Hi girls.

What do we all do for exercise during these dark winter months? As you know, I’m a stand up paddle instructor so you’d like to think that I’m really fit and active but the truth is I’m heavier than I should be and my joints ache as well as having osteoarthritis.

So in the spring I’d love to emerge at the start of another paddle season leaner and stronger. As we all know, exercise in menopause is great for strength, losing weight, increasing flexibility and balance and of course releasing those feel-good endorphins.

What are your winter nutrition/exercise goals?

So ladies. A little about me. I’m no medical expert nor do I pretend to know everything about menopause. For each of us it presents as a very different journey methinks.

Many of us may experience little or no obvious symptoms like the usual ones that most people know about. These being the obvious:
Hot flushes that appear with no warning
Night sweats
Joint pain
“Foggy” brain
Irritability
Mood swings
Depression or lack of esteem.

This list not exhaustive. For me it’s also a feeling sometimes I don’t recognise myself.

I’m 54, mother of 2 and grandmother of 2. Self employed. One job as a career/PA and another seasonal one as a stand up paddle instructor.
