We are absolutely delighted to introduce the newest (and most feathered) resident at Somer Valley House , Phil…….the pheasant 🐦
After conducting what can only be described as very thorough research (a few thoughtful head tilts and a confident strut through the grounds), Phil decided that Somer Valley House was the perfect place to settle down. With beautifully kept gardens, fabulous care, and all inclusive costs that keep his claws polished and his feathers looking tip top, it really was a no brainer.
Phil is an early riser , after all, the early bird catches the worm and he’s always first in line to enjoy the wide selection of newspapers on offer. His favourite section? Naturally, the Feather Forecast, so he knows exactly what kind of day lies ahead for his plumage.
Our talented chefs make sure Phil is never peckish, providing plenty of tasty treats for him to snack on while he potters about the garden. Meanwhile, our Lifestyle Manager, Dafydd, has been given the very important job of feeding and entertaining him. This does, however, involve watching a 6 foot 5 Dafydd enthusiastically singing “Feed the Birds” from Mary Poppins ,an experience that Phil seems to enjoy far more than some of our other residents!
All in all, Phil has settled in beautifully, and we’re thrilled to have him strutting around Somer Valley House and bringing smiles to the resident’s faces.
Rumour has it that Phil is looking for a girlfriend and who knows , Philomena may join us here too!
