As you might’ve read in the press, Eli Lilly who manufacture Mounjaro are increasing their wholesale price to providers. Consequently, these providers will also need to increase their prices.
This will be the case at Elders; new prices which will take effect from September 1st are listed below.
However for those who might find the affordability of Mounjaro out of their reach, there is the option to switch to Wegovy, another weight loss treatment.
Prices for both are:
Mounjaro 2.5mg £200
Mounjaro 5mg £200
Mounjaro 7.5mg £250
Mounjaro 10mg £275
Mounjaro 12.5mg £295
Mounjaro 15mg £310
Wegovy 0.25mg £150
Wegovy 0.5mg £150
Wegovy 1mg £150
Wegovy 1.7mg £199
Wegovy 2.4mg £240
For those patients currently on Mounjaro interested in switching to Wegovy, the dose conversion is simple.
Those on 2.5mg Mounjaro will be put on Wegovy 0.25mg
Those on both 5mg and 7.5mg will be put on Wegovy 0.5mg
Those patients on 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg will be put on 1mg Wegovy.
These are the switching doses
Wegovy also comes as a 1.7mg and 2.4mg, you can’t be switched to either dose, but can go up after being on 1mg for four weeks.
Please note, you won’t be able to start Wegovy, until 7 days after your last Mounjaro dose.
