Breakfast Talk

Breakfast being “essential” is not science. It’s marketing.

The key truth: “Breakfast is essential” is not a biological rule. It was a population-level marketing strategy.

Your body doesn’t need breakfast at a specific time to function properly. What matters more is:
* total nutrition across the day
* blood sugar stability
* sleep quality
* stress levels
* and your personal metabolic response

About eating breakfast and “spikes” A high-carb breakfast significantly increases blood sugar spikes.

If you’re prone to blood sugar swings, anxiety, or overeating later, breakfast can help stabilise you — but only when it’s built around protein, fats, and fibre together. This combination reduces blood sugar spikes and supports steadier energy, mood, and appetite throughout the morning.

So should you eat it?
Don’t eat because it’s “breakfast time.” Eat when it supports stable energy, mood, and appetite.

For some people:
eating the right breakfast = steadier blood sugar, fewer cravings

For others:
delaying food = better energy and control

Simple rule of thumb:
“Should I eat now, and is what I’m eating now going to improve how I feel over the next 4–6 hours?”

If yes → eat
If no → don’t eat

World Homeopathy Day

In honour of Samual Hahnemann on his Birthday.

I give thanks to Samuel Hahnemann for his bravery in proving these remedies and for developing the homeopathic foundations that I am privileged to walk on.

Exam season can put a huge amount of pressure on a teen’s nervous system, often showing up as overwhelm, anxiety, poor focus, disrupted sleep and many other ways.

Spinal Flow works by supporting the body to allow it to move out of a stress driven sympathetic nervous system dominance, creating space for more calm, clarity and resilience when it’s needed most.

Symptoms are the body’s voice, signaling what needs attention.

A common mistake is treating them as something to erase rather than listening to what the body is communicating.

Ignoring the signal or trying to fix the symptom without understanding what is driving it does not resolve the issue and can push the problem deeper.

Unlock the power of your spinal flow.

Your Body Is Designed to Heal Itself.

Your body isn’t broken, it’s built to heal.

If it’s not healing, something’s in the way.
Stress. Poor diet. Nervous system dysregulation. Chemical overwhelm from your environment or medication. Lifestyle choices. The list is endless.

But it’s never due to a lack of pills, or masking techniques.

Instead of chasing symptoms, let’s ask:

What’s stopping my body from healing?

Remove the interference. Support your body. Uncover the root cause.

Natural healing. No quick fixes. Incredible results.

Smartphones & Spinal Curvature in children and teens:

Their developing spine isn’t just dealing with posture it’s dealing with load:

Head weight matters:
* The human head weighs ~4–5 kg in neutral position
* When you tilt your head forward, the load on the cervical spine increases significantly
* At ~45° forward tilt, the effective force can exceed 20 kg equivalent

This sustained load doesn’t stay isolated to the neck — it affects the entire spinal alignment.

What happens to spinal curvature?
Cervical spine
* Forward head posture reduces normal cervical lordosis
* Increases mechanical stress on discs and soft tissues

Thoracic spine
* The upper back compensates by increasing thoracic kyphosis
* This creates the classic slouched or C-shaped posture
Over time, repeated positioning reinforces this curvature pattern rather than just temporary posture

Why this leads to curvature changes:
* The spine adapts to repeated loading patterns
* Prolonged flexed posture shifts the body’s centre of gravity forward
* Muscles and ligaments become chronically loaded in stretched or shortened positions
* This encourages adaptive postural changes, particularly increased kyphotic curvature

What research shows:
Smartphone use is associated with:
* Forward head posture - increased head weight.
* Increased thoracic kyphosis
* Altered sagittal spinal alignment

Prolonged sitting + device use amplifies these curvature changes in adolescents

What’s being seen in the UK:
Healthcare professionals within services such as the NHS are reporting more adolescents presenting with postural spinal changes and musculoskeletal complaints linked to prolonged screen use and sedentary behaviour.

‼️Parents this is something you need to understand.

This isn’t just bad posture or a neck issue. It’s a whole-spine loading problem linked to how kids and teens use devices every day.

☀️We Made it!

The spring equinox is the moment the Earth rests in perfect balance, when day and night share the same gentle breath.

Day and night are almost equal in length.

This happens because the Earth is tilted in such a way that neither hemisphere leans toward or away from the Sun.

Light is shared evenly across the world, creating that brief moment of balance before the days begin to grow longer.

It is not just a date, but a quiet turning.

Beneath our feet, the soil softens. Roots stir. Seeds, long hidden in darkness, feel the call to rise. This is the true meaning not sudden bloom, but the courage to begin again.🌱

To Mother Earth, the equinox is a threshold, a reminder that life moves in cycles 🔄 rest, renewal, return.

Nothing is ever lost, only changed and waiting.

It asks the same of us
to come back into balance
to plant with intention
and to trust that even after the longest winter, growth is already unfolding.

Controversial thoughts going into the weekend: Most people using contrast therapy to regulate the nervous system are doing the opposite.

Contrast therapy is sold as a way to improve metabolic health, lymphatic flow/detoxification, aid recovery and reset the nervous system. The reality is far more complicated.

Cold drives sympathetic activation with vasoconstriction, catecholamine release and faster heart rate. Heat drives circulation, increases heart rate and places thermoregulatory stress on the body.

Switching rapidly between the two forces the body to swing between extremes.

Many people already live in chronic sympathetic dominance from poor sleep, stress, high training loads or metabolic dysfunction. Rapid thermal swings make it harder to reach parasympathetic recovery, the state the body needs to reset.

Lymph flow depends on muscle contraction and breathing, not temperature alone. Fascia adapts to mechanical load and hydration, not extremes of heat or cold.

Cold and heat can both be useful when used on their own. Cold may support alertness, reduce soreness and aid recovery. Heat can relax muscles, improve circulation and help the body shift towards parasympathetic recovery.
These are just some examples of their effects.

Before using contrast or thermal extremes, ask yourself: is your nervous system already overloaded?
