Karen is our August Employee of the Month.
She has been with us for over a year and a half.

Karen is an experienced carer which shows in her work that she is an asset to our home.

Karen also likes to entertain so you may often hear her belting out a tune with our residents to the Alexa!

Taking a trip down Memory Lane 💛

Another activity this week was to reminisce and look through a memory box from Millom Heritage & Arts Centre

The residents and staff were very intrigued to look through the memory box, there were lots of different items 🤩 it was brilliant!

Looking through a memory box can be particularly beneficial for the residents including those with dementia.

Model making 🎨🖌️

One of our residents has been very busy, he has shown a lot of interest in the Shivering Sands Fort so he decided to make his own version of one and we must say it is amazing! 😮🤩

Shivering Sands Army Fort, also known as Maunsell Fort U7, is one of three World War II sea forts in the Thames Estuary.

Built in 1942-43, it served as an anti-aircraft defense platform, protecting the sea lanes into the Thames from German mine-laying and air attacks.

The fort consists of seven interconnected towers, designed to withstand bombardment. After the war, it was briefly used as a pirate radio station in the 1960s before being abandoned.

🌊🐟 The residents had the most serene experience watching our stunning koi carp glide gracefully through the garden pond. Its vibrant colours and elegant movements sparked their creativity! 🎨✨ They got to work and created beautiful pictures of George, our homes Koi Carp.

Last week we had The Remnant Singers in to visit us. They sang various songs, which we all loved!

The residents and staff were singing, dancing and shaking the musical instruments 🪇🎸🎤

It’s always such a wonderful afternoon when they visit, thank you!
