Sheldon Funeral Services Ltd Family run funeral directors, established over a century We are proud to say that our business here in Millom is almost as old as the town itself.

Established in 1908 by Samuel Sheldon, we have served the local area for over a century as an independent, family-run company of funeral directors. A great many aspects of funerals have changed over our many years in business however the traditions of integrity and compassion, as laid down by our forebears, remain exactly the same. We operate a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year personal service which starts as soon as contact is made by yourself, whether by telephone or by calling in to our office. At a time to suit you, your funeral director will discuss all the options available in order to ensure that you are completely satisfied with the proposed funeral arrangements. We will take care of all the necessary paperwork, laising with doctors, ministers, caterers and florists so that you are relieved of the burden of making these arrangements yourself at what is a difficult time. We are also proud to offer Golden Charter funeral plans. Obituary notice for the late Paul Braithwaite:

On January 30th, peacefully at home after a long illness, Paul aged 73 years of Huddleston Road, Millom, beloved husband of Eve, Dad of Donna, Tracey, John & Tony, father in law of Stuart, Richard, Diane & Rachel, grandad of Joe, Jack, Emily, Aimee, Billy, Toby & Taylor, brother of Julie and good friend to many. The funeral service will be held on Thursday 12th February at 11.00am at Thorncliffe Crematorium, Barrow. Anyone who is unable to attend the crematorium is welcome to join the family at Haverigg Working Men’s Club from 1.00pm to celebrate Paul’s life.
