It’s been another fantastic week across our Hamberley Care Homes, full of fun, creativity, and community!

📚 Lovell Place Care Home - Happy World Book Day! Lovell residents enjoyed celebrating with Charlton Wood Primary children joining for crafts, colouring, and lots of smiles and laughter.

📖 Meryton Place Care Home - World Book Day fun continued with Snapdragons Nursery, featuring amazing costumes from Paddington Bear to Spot the Dog, and residents enjoyed reading imaginative stories 🌍📚

📚 Templeton Place Care Home - Celebrated World Book Day with Explorers Nursery children, enjoying colouring, cupcakes, and lovely stories together.

🐾 Caddington Grove Care Home - Therapy dog Hiccup brought cuddles, wagging tails, and lots of laughter to everyone he met.

☀️ Chawley Grove Care Home - Residents enjoyed a Spring flower arranging afternoon.

🌿 Verwood House Care Home - Spring sunshine inspired flower pot decorating, outdoor games, and relaxing moments with friends and family.

🎉 Alston House Care Home - Celebrated 3 incredible years with Rock ‘n’ Roll themed party!

🍽️ Milngavie Manor Care Home - Residents enjoyed homemade South Indian dishes and a minibus trip to Sarvana Bhavan, sparking memories and cultural connection.

🐕 Richmond Manor Care Home - Simba the dog brought joy and snuggles, proving furry friends make the best company.

🌹 Brookwater House Care Home - Residents enjoyed a vibrant flower arranging session, creating beautiful bouquets and sharing tips with smiles all around.

🎯 Edwalton Manor Care Home- Friendly darts competitions kept everyone laughing, with some impressive bullseyes along the way.

We’re grateful to Bath Echo for covering our recent Dementia Information Evening at Meryton Place Care Home.

It was wonderful to welcome local experts, support organisations, carers, and families for an evening focused on improving understanding of Dementia and sharing practical advice. Meaningful conversations and knowledge sharing made the night truly special.

Our Head of Dementia, David Moore, led an insightful session on the Hamberley Dementia strategy, highlighting person-centred care, engaging activities, and creating Dementia-friendly spaces.

We’re proud to support our community and continue raising awareness of Dementia care.

🥌 Lovell Place Care Home - Friendly curling challenge with our sister home Meryton Place Care Home - Team Lovell won, but fun was the real winner!

🐎 Nesbit House Care Home - Shetland ponies Jack and Ralph visited for Chinese New Year celebrations.

🏆 Newton House Care Home - Inspired by the Winter Olympics, residents enjoyed curling at Greenacres Curling Club and shared memories.

🌮🎈 Upton Manor Care Home - Fiesta week with Mexican culture chats and a magical balloon visit from Mr Pop!

🌿🛍️ Abbots Wood Manor Care Home - Residents enjoyed a lovely trip to Hillier Garden Centre for a little retail therapy, followed by a warm drink and sweet treat together. ☕🍰

💛 Spreading Joy at Milngavie Manor 💛

We’re incredibly proud to see Milngavie Manor Care Home featured in the Glasgow Times for such a heartwarming story.

Sisters Deloris and Isabella Mauricia, pupils at Douglas Academy, have become a much-loved part of life at our home. Deloris, 17, began volunteering with us as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award, and now visits every Friday alongside her 14-year-old sister Isabella.

From sharing stories and laughter to enjoying the occasional dance, their visits truly brighten our residents’ week. Their kindness, warmth and enthusiasm embody exactly what community spirit is all about.

Meryton Place Care Home - Sensory skiing and Winter Olympics excitement had residents claiming Gold, Silver, and Bronze! ❄️🏂

Chawley Grove Care Home - Curling Championships brought laughter, friendly competition, and gold medal glory 🥌

Dorking Manor Care Home - Curling thrills continued with Adrian taking gold 🥇, Ann silver, and Belinda bronze.

Hindhead Place Care Home - A cheerful trip to Squires Garden Centre 🌸, exploring flowers, furniture, and fragrant soaps.

After all that footbal fun this morning... nothing hits like pancakes loaded with toppings and somehow they still taste better than stacks and spills* 🤪🥞

Sounds like a solid game plan to me:
Football ➡️ Hunger ➡️ Pancake chaos ➡️ Zero regrets 😍

What toppings are we talking though — classic maple syrup, Nutella madness, strawberrys , Other berry's or full-on “everything in the cupboard” mode? We had the lot!

My personal helper Mary YTS (if you know yer old and u know) helped me deliver pankakes and snilles all afternoon 😂 😂 ♥️ ♥️

Wow, our night was filled with so much joy and celebration! A pre-Valentine’s bash with singing and dancing to all the classic hits—what an amazing vibe! 🎤💃 The energy was electric with everyone letting loose and enjoying the music.
Angela Duncan sending love from the heart of the party in her glam red dress—how fabulous! She hsd the perfect embodiment of love and celebration, glowing in her style as she spread good vibes everywhere. 💃✨ Va'antine wishes for all!

Happy valantines weekend!❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Mary and Oliver's connection is timeless, like something you read about in fairytales—two souls who found each other in the bustling '80s, and then just clicked like two puzzle pieces. Their love has only deepened through the years, and today, that love filled the air, wrapping them up in a cozy, intimate moment.

The 12 roses as a gift.. symbol of their deep affection and commitment to each other—one for each month of the year, each red petal a reminder of the passion that’s never faded. Their private lunch wasn’t just a meal; it was a celebration of all the memories they've made, and all the ones still ahead. You could probably feel the magic in the room—love that’s lasted through decades, laughter, and maybe even some tears.

Happy Valentine’s to Mary and Oliver, and to everyone lucky enough to witness the kind of love that only grows stronger with time! 🌹💖 What a beautiful, heartwarming celebration of true, lasting love.

We loved taking part in on 6th February with our sister care home, Newton House 💌
Today our lovely bus driver and excursions lead, Sharon, delivered postcards from Milngavie Manor to Newton House and brought back some beautifully colourful cards from the Newton residents for us to enjoy.
We will spend the afternoon reading them together over a cuppa and cake — sharing smiles, kind words, and lots of warmth ☕🍰💖

The day after our morning of reminiscing, Team Memphis Mark rocked up and brought ALL the tunes! 🎤🎶🎵 Our residents were singing their hearts out 😄👏 toe-tapping like pros 🦶💥 and dancing like it was a Saturday night 🕺💃🔥✨ What a blast!!! 🎉🎉🎉
