Lipomas are mostly seen on the arms, tops of legs and the back. However recently we are seeing more cases of lipomas on foreheads, shins and the neck.

These growths are usually just benign fatty tissue and are usually removed for cosmetic reasons or because they are in an awkward place and become uncomfortable.

The first step in booking a removal with us is to email with a picture of the lipoma and a brief history, ie how long have you had it and has it recently grown in size.

Removal is quick, with minimal discomfort and done using precise surgical techniques.

Another minor surgery carried out by Dr Okuzu, our GP with a special interest in skin. This client wanted a sebaceous cyst removed from his chest.

Sebaceous cysts are typically non-harmful lumps under the skin and they are generally removed for cosmetic purposes or if they cause discomfort.

Our GP led skin clinic runs some Wednesday evenings and Saturdays throughout the month. Before we undertake any procedure, we carry out either an online assessment or a face-to-face consultation. Online assessments require the patient to provide details and photos of the lesion.

Recent removal of a forehead lipoma by Dr Okuzu at our skin clinic.

A lipoma is a benign lump of fat that typically forms under the skin. They are usually soft, painless and slow growing.

The most common age for lipomas to appear is between 40 and 60. Commonly patients request removal if they are self conscious of the lipoma or it continues to grow.
