What is a lipoma?

Lipomas are soft fatty lumps under the skin which are usually harmless. Most people who wish to get them removed do so because they don't like the look of them of if they are growing and cause discomfort.

We remove many lipomas from different areas of the body including the face in our GP-led skin clinic.

Lipomas are mostly seen on the arms, tops of legs and the back. However recently we are seeing more cases of lipomas on foreheads, shins and the neck.

These growths are usually just benign fatty tissue and are usually removed for cosmetic reasons or because they are in an awkward place and become uncomfortable.

The first step in booking a removal with us is to email with a picture of the lipoma and a brief history, ie how long have you had it and has it recently grown in size.

Removal is quick, with minimal discomfort and done using precise surgical techniques.
