Myofascial cupping can be an effective therapeutic technique for plantar fasciitis by targeting the fascia and muscles in the foot Here’s how it can help:

* Improves blood flow
* Release tension in fascia
* Reduces inflammation
* Relieve muscle tightness
* stimulates healing

1. Improves Blood Flow: Cupping creates a vacuum effect that lifts the skin and underlying tissues, which can help to increase circulation in the affected area. Better blood flow can promote healing by delivering oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and removing metabolic waste products.

2. Releases Tension in Fascia: The suction from the cups helps to release tightness and adhesions in the fascia, a connective tissue that can become inflamed and restricted in cases of plantar fasciitis. This can help reduce pain and improve flexibility.

Huge congratulations to on completing her first HYROX! 🏅

I had the pleasure of coaching Georgia and providing treatment throughout her preparations.

With a complete shift in her training style and the addition of mileage 🏃, her body was introduced to a few niggles along the way.

When you’re pushing yourself on hard ground, joints can sometimes take a hit. Thankfully, regular treatments kept things in check.

A big focus of the work was on her lower body, ensuring everything stayed in top shape for race day.

We made it to the finish line, and both coach and client were over the moon! 🌟

A competition prep will most certainly place high levels of stress on an athlete. Not only is this physical stress, but mental stress in turn.

So………..

Why could sports massage be of benefit to an athlete from a physical standpoint:

- Increased circulation & nutrient delivery
- Promotes faster recovery
- Promotes muscle growth
- Reduces fatigue
- Reduces tension
- Prevents injury
- Improves ROM & flexibility

Lee was very professional and approachable. He had great knowledge and took the time to ask what the issue was and explained what he was going to do. A very clean, relaxing environment with someone who clearly has great knowledge, has loads of passion and cares. He gave some great advice also around stretching and maintenance that may help me long term. Would definitely recommend without any hesitation. Will definitely be back.

Before this prep I never really placed an emphasis on sports massage, but I can honestly say that working with Lee throughout the last few months was the best decision. Seeing him regularly has helped my posing massively, and after picking up an injury at 10 weeks out, the treatments with him helped me to bounce back and be able to push on. I had the most incredible experience with Lee, I felt welcomed and at ease. Lee’s knowledge of sports massage is truly impressive, and it showed in every aspect of the session. Not only was Lee attentive to my needs and concerns, but also provided valuable insights and recommendations tailored to my specific requirements.

The massage itself was absolutely fantastic! I came with lower back pain and tightness all over, and left feeling rejuvenated, relaxed, and with a noticeable improvement in my overall well-being.

I cannot recommend Lee highly enough!

Firstly, sports massage is for everyone. Sports massage aims to improve function, movement and imbalances. It can help address pain and prevent injury by addressing issues in early stages. As a bikini competitor it is vitally important to be able to seamlessly transition and hold poses to capture the very best parts of a physique to showcase to the judges. Bikini competitors are judged on:

* Balance and Shape
* Overall Physical Appearance including:
* Complexion
* Skin tone
* Poise
* Overall presentation

If anyone knows Lauren they know she is a phenomenal poser, and is able to manipulate her body to bring the best balance and shape possible for her physique. This isn’t just by chance. It’s a combination of practise and specific treatment to bring the best outcome possible. Poise and presentation will also largely come down to the ex*****on of posing too.

I worked largely on the erectors and QL which are the main muscles involved in spinal rotation. With massage and dry cupping I was able to increase tissue elasticity which allowed for more rotation to occur. This enables Lauren to make her waist as small as possible in her front pose. It also helped reduce tension which was built up during peak week and show day from increased posing frequency.

Secondary to this, being competitive levels of bf % and spending time in the cold can take its toll on the body. The work completed also helped with joint and muscle tightness which was leading to aches and pains, restricted motion, and decreased flexibility.

For an athlete receiving assistance through massage is a crucial part of their routine.

Massage can assist with:

- Gaining greater range of movement, mobility and flexibility.
- Symmetry and balance.
- Increased circulation.
- Nutrient delivery.
- Reduced DOMS and recovery.
- Muscle growth.
- Stress reduction.
- Pain relief.
- Relaxation.
- Performance.

I’m happy to be supporting James throughout his pro debut season. James is currently deep into off season and is close to peak weight. For James this puts stress on his lower back. The main aim for today’s session was to relieve pressure experienced in this region. James and I discussed ways to alleviate discomfort moving forward. I’m looking forward to seeing this physique unfold in the coming months.

What is hyrox!?

Hyrox is a global fitness race. Participants compete in the exact same format. The race starts with a 1 km run, followed by 1 functional movement, which repeats 8 times. Movements include:

* SkiErg
* Sled push
* Burpee broad jumps
* Rowing
* Farmers carry
* Sandbag lunges
* Wall balls

To be able to compete this in good time is no breeze. The level of agility, mobility, strength and fitness combined needed to be competitive in this race is of high standard. But, before the race these levels need to be achieved. I saw first hand how Nicky and Matty dedicated their time to achieving just this. Blood, sweat and tears went Into preparing for their races and I was lucky enough to see them evolve throughout and keep on top of niggles and injuries. Calves, quads, knees, lower backs to name a few set backs. Were they 100% going into their comps!? No, but they were able to achieve incredible times, and times in which I know they will beat with their mindsets and work ethic. Being 100% I know these two will knock minutes off of their already great last outing. Well done boys 👏🏻 Now time for some R&R and to come back even better.

Do you ever suffer from a pain in the neck and traps!? In my experience the most common causes of neck pain are from: sleeping in an awkward position, and bad posture I.e when sitting at a desk or leaning over for long periods of time, and stress.

Cheyenne dropped by due to some pain and restriction in her neck, and a monster trigger point in her upper trap. On top of work where she competes 3 hour assessments, Cheyenne is currently studying many hours per week. I think we have our culprit!

The goal for the session was to relieve pain, restore range of movement, and break down the trigger point. Using massage, cross frictions, and new new IASTM tool we managed just that.
