How 80-year-olds George and Gladys fell in love at Age UK 💜

Despite growing up near one another on the outskirts of Hull, 80-year-olds George and Gladys first met at Age UK Hull & East Yorkshire. Gladys said she was encouraged to attend one of the social groups after her husband died in 2020. She said: "When he sadly passed away, I just thought well, my life is over." But that all changed on her first visit, when she unknowingly sat in George's usual seat.

After staff jokingly told her she couldn't sit there, George walked in, and the pair hit it off straight away. Realising how much they had in common, George bought tickets for them to attend the theatre together, and they have been a couple ever since.

"I just fell in love with her. It's just one of those things. I don't know what happens, but you just do!" said George, with Gladys adding "I just think the world of him. I don't know what I'd do without him now. We just enjoy life together so much."

What a wonderful Age UK love story, here's to many more theatre trips together! 🎭

One month in to 2026 already. I’m not sure where the times gone , thankyou to those who persevered with me last week while my car was in the garage, forever thankful 🙏

It’s been a busy month with lots of new clients. 175 pairs of feet were attended to in January!

My appointments are filling up fast at moment. But we do have a few appointments available over next few weeks.
