🕯️ COVID-19 Day of Reflection – Sunday 8 March

Today we remember those who lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic and reflect on the impact it had on our communities.

The national Day of Reflection is a moment to pause, remember loved ones, and recognise the dedication of health and care staff, frontline workers, and volunteers who supported others during this time.

From everyone at CMK Medical Centre, we remember those we lost and stand with all those affected.

💛 March is Endometriosis Awareness Month 💛

Endometriosis affects around 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth in the UK, yet many people still don’t know much about this often painful and life-impacting condition.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows elsewhere in the body, such as the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or pelvic lining. It can cause symptoms including:

• Painful periods that affect daily life
• Pelvic pain
• Pain during or after s*x
• Pain when going to the toilet
• Difficulty getting pregnant
• Fatigue and other ongoing symptoms

On average, it can take around 8 years to receive a diagnosis, which is why awareness and early conversations with healthcare professionals are so important.

If you’re experiencing symptoms or concerned about your menstrual health, please request to speak to your GP > https://accurx.nhs.uk/patient-initiated/k82065 We’re here to help.

💛 Support is available:
You are not alone. Endometriosis UK offers information, support services, and local support groups for those affected.
➡️ Learn more: https://www.endometriosis-uk.org/
➡️ Find support: https://www.endometriosis-uk.org/get-support

Throughout March, people across the UK are coming together to raise awareness, improve understanding, and support those living with endometriosis. Together we can help ensure symptoms are recognised earlier and people get the care they need.

🚭 No Smoking Day is Coming – 11th March 2026 🚭

No Smoking Day is just around the corner, taking place on Wednesday 11th March 2026 — and it could be the perfect opportunity to take that first step towards quitting.

If you’ve been thinking about stopping smoking, why not use this national awareness day as your motivation? Setting a clear date can make a big difference, and many people choose No Smoking Day as their fresh start.

Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health. The benefits start almost immediately and continue to grow over time — improving your breathing, energy levels, heart health and overall wellbeing.

You don’t have to do it alone. With the right support, you’re much more likely to quit successfully.

In the meantime, if you’re considering quitting, you could start by:
• Thinking about your reasons for stopping
• Choosing 11th March as your quit date
• Talking to family and friends about your plan
• Contacting us to find out about stop smoking support

This year’s theme is Community — because we know how important safe and supportive communities are for:

✨ those who recognise the signs of an eating disorder and want to support someone towards the help they need

Beat — the UK’s eating disorders charity — will be sharing advice on how to get involved in your community, from finding your own safe spaces to creating supportive ones for others. We encourage you to get involved with Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2026 today!
