Z= zzz(sleep)

Sleep keeps us healthy and functioning well. It lets your body and brain repair, restore, and reenergize.

Getting enough sleep will help to:
· Be sick less often.
· Stay at a healthy weight.
· Lower your risk for serious health problems, like diabetes and heart disease.
· Reduce stress and improve your mood.
· Think more clearly and do better in school and at work.
· Get along better with people.

If you don't get enough sleep, you might experience side effects like poor memory and focus, weakened immunity, and mood changes.

So what can you do to get a good nights sleep?

Here are some suggestions which may help you to sleep:
· 30 minutes before going to bed, turn off all electrical equipment (or put on charge)
· Check in with your body. How are you feeling? Squeeze and release hands, feet etc
· In your journal, write 3 things you are grateful for
· Write 3 things you have learnt today
· Write about 1 or 2 people you really appreciate and why
· Brain dump – if you are struggling with a head full of thoughts/worries, either try meditation and/or write down all these thoughts down so they are no longer in your mind.
· Read a chapter or two of a good book
· As soon as you feel your eyes dropping, close the book and turn of the light
· Make sure there is no light pollution from phones etc

W= Willpower

Did you make any New Years Resolutions?

Have you promised yourself you will do x,y,z by a,b,c?

Willpower is what you need to keep you going to reach your goals and make those differences.

Willpower can make all the difference between succeeding in your endeavours and giving up too soon. Willpower is a type of strength that gives you the ability to control your thoughts and behaviour.

Willpower is associated with this these areas:
· Self Control – you make the decisions - you control your thoughts and behaviour

· Drive – What will you benefit from doing this?

· Self Restraint – Can you can stop yourself from going offtrack

· Determination –what makes you want to keep going?

Review any items you have ongoing which are challenging, demanding but you know which make a big difference to your live.

How much willpower is needed for this?

Check in with the reason ‘why’ you are doing this. Your why will keep you on track

Give yourself a fallback plan if you do go off track. How can you get back on track?

Most importantly, don’t beat yourself up – you are only human.

V=Vision

I love vision boards.

I have a few. Just a great way to piece together what you want in life in one picture so you can see clearly your path and what you want to aim towards.

I highly recommend creating one for yourself.

This can be on any subject from overall future of your life, potential interests/hobbies, redecorating a room, places you want to visit etc.

You can conduct this different ways depending what works for you.

The usual concept is to dig out lots of magazines and get cutting. Find images, colours, words that represent what you want. Stick these down on a large piece pf paperwork as a collage.

The way I do it is to use Google images*

Type into google an item. Find what you want and take a screen shot. Paste this (electronically) into a PowerPoint slide. Build up your collage then print it off.

Display your collages wherever you will see them regularly. Think of how you can reach these visions.

*This is a personal project so only do this is you know for sure you are not sharing with anyone otherwise you could be breaking copyright laws.

Time to stop and think about all your strengths and abilities that you can utilise and maybe share and help others.

We sometimes forget the skills we have learnt that can be put into good use and help improve life for ourselves and others.

There maybe also be technology or items that can be utilised to improve life considerably.

Is there anything you can do/use to make life easier?

Examples:

· I am a very good organiser. I have helped people become more organised. I utilised my skills to make a difference in peoples lives.

· For years, I have been using Excel to conduct my monthly budgeting. This is fine but its time consuming and frustrating when formulas go astray. I have now invested and are utilising special apps which can do this all automatically for me to save me time and stress.

How often do you stop and take time out for yourself?

Rushing around each day, fall into bed shattered?

Today, take a minimum of 10 minutes for yourself. This can be for meditation, breathing, happy place, body check, a walk or enjoying a cup of tea.

Just stopping and pausing is great to re-charge, re-group and feel much calmer.

• Come in the table pose.
• Spread your palms below your shoulders, pointing toes back.
• Scroll your toes, press palms down and lift your knees up.
• Your chin should be to the chest.
• Your focus should be towards your palms, shoulder, and spine majorly.
• Ground your palms and feet comfortably.
• Breathe in and out relax.
• Hold the pose for a minute.
• Release the pose gently.

This can provides the following benefits:
improve posture and coordination
relieve sciatic pain
improve agility
boost circulation
tone core muscles
strengthen your back, hips, and legs

This year, if you are struggling with chaos, It is time to consider a restructure or your life, activities, items etc.

This will involve putting in effort but the rewards are endless including less stress & worry and feeling more in control of your life.

Here are ideas to consider but contact me if you want to discuss further:

· Focus on one area at a time of what is troubling you and causing you the most stress. You can review other areas another time

· Consider what the issue is? Is it no time to organise, is it items in the wrong place? Is it too much and overwhelming? Is it other people causing you stress? You must identify the core problem to be able to take action

· Is there anything you can change (what you can control) that can make this situation better? Anything out of your control you will need to accept or change your position

· Imagine the prefect situation when everything is working to plan with no stress. What does that look like? Can you do anything to reach this?

When we treat ourselves to nice things or put more effort and quality into products, our time etc, we feel so much better and pampered.

Think about areas of your life where you can improve the quality in your life.

Time to get motivated to complete an outstanding task you have been putting off for some time.

To find some motivation, try these:

· Go back to your ‘why’: Why are you doing this task? what would happen if you don’t do it?
· Find the problem: What is stopping you?
· Get the right tools – Make changes to the areas causing an issue. Example: computer running too slow? Check computer hard drive size is enough for you needs

· Reduce daily distractions – turn off your phone, clear away rubbish etc. this is so you can concentrate

· Buddy up – find someone who will motivate you and will give you the encouragement you need.

A great way to keep you motivated and though the winter months is to look into a new hobby or training course you can do.

Is there any skill you would love to try?
Is there anything you would like to learn?

There are many benefits for learning a new skill including:
· It keeps you healthy. Learning keeps your mind engaged and body active
· It opens doors to all new possibilities
· It increases your adaptability
· It increases your likability
· It keeps you relevant
· You make connections between skill area you already have
· You become a more interesting person as you have more in common with others
· It fights boredom and keeps your brain, body active
· You could stave off dementia.

Kindness is a quality of being generous and considerate, with no expectation of reward, credit, or return of similar.

The smallest kind gesture can really brighten someone’s day.

Whether it’s a small gesture to show your love to family, or kindness to someone random on the street, engaging in little acts of kindness can make the people around you feel good.

It will also make you feel good too!

Here are some small gestures you can make to make someone’s day (and yours too!)

Offer a smile
Open the door for someone
Give a stranger a compliment
Write a note
Run an errand for someone
Say ‘good morning’ to a stranger
Send flowers for no reason
Be a listener
Ask how you can help

Lets work on our internal body to help us feel great which will in-turn shine out of our body.

Try looking at a few of these items:

· Nutriments – today, make sure you eat foods that will help and nurture you so you will feel great. Focus on fruit and vegetables

· Water - have as much water as possible today to cleanse, detox and refresh you

· Body check – top to toe, move all your body to check for any aches or soreness.

· Exercise – conduct some stretches/light exercise to get your heart rate elevated but to move your body

· Meditation – go inwards to focus your mind and reduce stress and increase your wellbeing
