Steady now, don't rush the pace.
There is plenty of time to win your race.
No one is ahead, no one is behind.
It is only you, body, spirit and mind.
You have your race, you chose it first
It will run with as it has since birth.
So don't count the hours or the days left ahead.
Don't ask for the outcome, live the moment instead.
Don't wish all the milestones, there are still more to come...
Don't grow up to soon, you'll miss all the fun.
Instead, take a breath, look around you and smile.
You have been on this planet, already, awhile.
You have made many memories and met many in kind.
You have lived with great courage, thought hard with your mind.
You have danced, you have sung, you have laughed, you have cried.
You have embraced many moments, sometimes wanting to hide.
You have aged of this earth yet your soul is still young.
So take each moment as a blessing, knowing there are more to come.
