When the time comes to move forward in life,
You will get the message, at least once or twice.
The past will step forward and bring back old tears,
Those packed away memories, relived through our fears.
Tears are a cleanser, they help us to heal.
They are but emotion, although sometimes surreal.
They conjure up thoughts, regrets, worries too.
The test is how you face them and what you must do.
The past is as stated, it exists before now.
It should be a memory, a reminder of how
we fought through a problem, we made our life’s peace.
We moved up a level, we found our own feet.
So celebrate all you have learnt along the way.
Rejoice in the knowledge of who you are this very day.
You are stronger and wiser and know who you are,
So rejoice in your own truth, it will see you far.
Don’t dwell on what’s past or wish for what lies ahead.
Live in the present, make peace in heart and head.
