About Me: Dr. Gus Chaves

You’ve seen the slides—now let’s dive deeper!

I’m Dr. Gus Chaves, a former GP turned hypnotherapist, and I help women transform their relationship with food, exercise, and, most importantly, themselves.

After years in healthcare, I realized that traditional weight loss methods often ignore the most powerful tool for lasting change: the mind. That’s why I created a unique approach that blends medical expertise, trauma-informed coaching, and hypnotherapy— without dieting, guilt, or deprivation.

But beyond my work, I’m just a guy who loves long walks, plants, and even fake tap dancing around my apartment. (Yes, really! 😂) Oh, and I spent 3.5 years as a hospital clown because laughter is medicine too!

The conversation around invisible illnesses and person-centered care was eye-opening, and it truly reinforced the importance of shedding light on these often-overlooked topics.
