Ok…. Picture this…. You want 2 stone off.

There are 3 roads…. Each one will take you to a wonderful place called “YOUR GOAL”

So “YOUR GOAL” is a place where you feel exuberant with the way you look and feel, happy that all your clothes fit, you feel like you’ve been given a new lease of life as you’re more active, less tired, have more energy, sleeping better and with no aches and pains - it’s sounds amazing right?!

When you begin, you want to get to “YOUR GOAL” as quick as possible - no one wants to be on any diet for years (but we are 🤦🏼‍♀️)

Road 1 - stick to plan, get the weight off, stay strong and strict with yourself - REMEMBER YOUR WHY - WHY you want the weight off..
If we HAD to stay on plan - Dr’s orders, we’d do it!
Time taken 2 months (a stone a month, 2 stone gone!) Motivation stays strong, job done! 👏🏼
You arrive at “YOUR GOAL”😇
🏎 I like to think of travelling this road in 6th gear the whole way!!! 🏎

Road 2 - start off good, motivation weakens, you have days, nights out with friends because “I still want to live”.
You struggle to get back on track the following day. Weekly weighins come with more excuses than pounds off!
2 months on and you’re still chasing that first stone saying the diets “not working”?!
If you keep messing about then you may get to “YOUR GOAL” in 6 months. 🤷🏼‍♀️
🚙 You travel this road constantly stalling, using more fuel!!! 🚙

Road 3 - you want this “so bad” but can’t get through a full day without nibbling.
The excuses that come are endless, “the diet is too expensive” and “it’s not working” or “I want to eat”
You blame everyone but yourself.
Motivation is gone.
You never reach “YOUR GOAL” but you ‘try’ again year after year.
🚙You travel this road and breakdown - it’ll cost you more than you thought! 🚙

We ALL know the best way to do any diet - simply stick to it! Consistency works!
If you want to eat whilst on the 1.1 diet then stop punishing yourself by saying you can’t stick to plan as you’ve chosen to follow the lower steps - dance around the plan, move up the steps, get your book out and pick the healthy options which will keep you on plan and motivated - the scales will still move in the right direction.

Cost wise… it’s actually cheaper to stick to plan than it is to keep messing about!
Stay focused, move up the steps to maintain, it’ll keep the weight off.
If you do the plan, and don’t move up the steps, increasing your calorie intake then the weight will be back on quickly - 1.1 diet is tried and tested, it’s been medically researched - it works if you follow it correctly!!!

“I’m really interested in doing The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan.... BUT it costs far too much! 😩”

So let me paint a little picture for you... 👍🏻

Imagine I’m on another well-know slimming plan ~ and I only pay £5 a week, right...?

So I start with the group. I pay my £5 at the meeting and get weighed, I sit and have a chat to find out how people have done well or not so well that week. The meeting finishes.

On my way home from the meeting, I take a trip to the supermarket to buy my healthy food for the week ~ preparation is key as I really don't want to cheat! So, I put just the absolute basics in my trolley, no added extras or special buys, just the essentials (even though we never do that!):

A loaf of wholemeal bread 🍞
Chicken breast fillets 🍗
Lettuce 🥬
Cucumber 🥒
Onions 🌰
Peppers
Tomatoes 🍅
Roasted veg 🍆
Mushrooms
Jacket potatoes 🥔
Low fat cheese 🧀
Beans
Low fat butter
12 eggs 🥚
8 low fat yoghurts for snacks
2 fruit pots
Rice 🍚
Wholemeal pasta
Skimmed milk🥛
No fat bacon medallions
Slim-a-soup
Light and lean sausages
Sweetener

Using the food on this list, I aim to have egg on toast every day for breakfast with milk and sweetener in my coffee.

For lunch, I’ll have jacket potato with beans and a little cheese for perhaps 4 days; a pasta salad on 2 days and then who knows what I’ll have for the 7th day ~ I'll probably just get a meal deal when I’m out somewhere (additional £3.50 on top of the above shop).

For a snack everyday, I’m going to have a yoghurt. I also bought some fruit snack pots just incase I get bored and fancy a change.

For my evening meals, I’ll have chicken and rice, chicken with salad or chicken with vegetables and a low-fat fry-up one night with my bacon and sausages.

For my basic shopping list above, with no additional extras included, it will cost me in excess of £40.

Also a couple of take away coffees in the week £6.
£3.50 for the extra meal deal because I didn't buy enough lunches for the week.
Then I might have a sneaky takeaway costing me up to £10 (just for me) after my weigh-in as I’ve been so good all week!
Oh how about alcohol? A couple of cheap bottles of wine £10.
A couple of bottles of coke/lemonade £2.

But it's only £5 a week at those slimming groups, right? Wrong ❌
The total cost of my diet for the week is looking more like £71.50+!

But what does this mean for us now?

It means Its time to knuckle down so that we can all emerge from this looking like beautiful butterflies.......
And not like hungry caterpillars! 🦋🐛

So, if you've been struggling to stick to plan, if you've been feeling like you just can't see an end to this, if you've been feeling like there's just nothing to look forward to......

Think again!!!

Cos now there truly is!!!

This summer....

We can go out,
We can visit our family,
We can see our friends,
We can celebrate events together in person,
We can meet for coffee (or more likely, a beer and a gin 🤪)....

So when all of this happens, how do you want to feel?
How do you want to look?
What do you want to wear?

You are in charge of all of that you know!!!

So today, make the choices that lead you to where you truly want to be, and say no to the choices that set you back!

𝙏𝙞𝙨 𝘿𝙖𝙮 𝘼𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝘽𝙤𝙭𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘿𝙖𝙮...

Tis the day after Boxing Day and the turkey's in tatters,
It's now time to face up to what matters,
As fun as it was the date on the clock,
Said to take out the scales and prepare for a shock,
So I reached for a packet~ Choc mint my fave,
Added some water and a good shake I gave,
And as it goes down I hear myself sigh~
I'm right back on track, that I cannot deny,
Although it's been fun~my weight really does matter,
I must check my thinking or I will get fatter,
I've watched my sister, who is permanently thin,
She refused cake and put the lid on the tin,
My hubby is out running already this day,
That's how he keeps his spare tyre far away,
If you watch other people they intervene quick,
It's not magic you know, it's not even a trick.
Maintaining your figure means a bit of hard graft,
To get rid of those pounds that stick to your ass,
So I swallow my shake and drink all my water,
And get back on plan like I know I oughta.
It's worth it I know, to wear what I want,
Not to look in the cupboard and see what I can't.
And as life moves on and the New Year arrives,
I can look back at Christmas and say I survived!
I've drunk all my shake now and feel really proud,
I'm losing those pounds, I can shout it out loud!
So here's to my comrades with The 1:1 Diet
Trust me, it's worth it, I cannot deny it!
