🎄 Willen Family Christmas Crafts🎄

This weekend our Willen family came together to get crafty as part of our annual Staff Christmas Crafts well-being event.

The event was only made possible by the support of our friend Mike at Badger Hill Christmas Tree Farm who kindly supplied the materials for our festive fun. We'd also like to thank hard working colleagues Jurate, Chloe and Tom and the army of volunteers who helped make the event such a success. 💙

Willen Hospice care wraps around your whole family. 💙

We help children to understand what’s happening to an adult that’s special to them.

And we give parents and grandparents the tools to support them.

As Emily describes below…

“The experience of Willen at Home has made me a better parent, because I think a lot more about the information I give my children.

“Aged six, Luca was able to stand up at my grandad’s funeral and speak on his own. I’m sure this was a consequence of his relationship with my grandad, the support he received from the Willen at Home nurses and the follow-up counselling sessions that he had at the Hospice.

“He had such a peace with what had happened. As well as the confidence to feel that it’s OK to be happy about the memories you have and not just be sad when someone dies. “

Every Christmas is a gift. But some are more precious than others🎁

Today we're sharing the final part of Amanda's story with you.

In part three, Amanda speaks about the grief of losing daughter Michelle, as well as the comfort of having precious quality time together in those last weeks. 💙

"I lost my daughter, and I lost my best friend as well. The person I used to phone and say, “This has happened and I don’t know what to do,” or simply, “I need a cuddle – can I come over?” That can never be replaced."
