🎉 A Huge Congratulations to Dana West! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to announce that Dana West has been promoted to Registered Care Manager at Home Instead Milton Keynes.

Dana’s journey with us is a true example of dedication, hard work, and commitment to the care profession. She first joined Home Instead Milton Keynes 13 years ago in 2013 as a Care Professional, supporting our clients directly in their homes. After just six months, Dana moved into the office and has continued to grow through a number of key roles including Senior Carer, Scheduler, Field Care Supervisor, Client Experience Supervisor, and Deputy Care Manager — each step building her knowledge, leadership skills, and passion for delivering exceptional care.

Becoming a Registered Care Manager is a significant achievement. The application and interview process is rigorous and intense, requiring candidates to demonstrate extensive experience in care delivery, leadership capability, and the ability to meet the high standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for managing a regulated care service. Dana’s progression through the sector, alongside her experience and commitment to professional development, made her a standout candidate for this important role.

Anyone who works with Dana knows she is incredibly hardworking, dedicated, and a fantastic team player. She’s exactly the kind of person who steps up when challenges arise, calmly takes charge, and ensures both our clients and team are supported.

Dana’s 13-year journey from Care Professional to Registered Care Manager shows what passion, perseverance, and commitment to quality care can achieve. We are so proud to see her step into this role and lead our team forward.

Please join us in congratulating Dana on this well-deserved promotion! 👏

Today we had the pleasure of attending the Parkinson’s education event hosted by Parkinson's UK and the Milton Keynes Working Age Group at The Chrysalis Theatre, Camphill Milton Keynes Communities.

It was a fantastic and very well organised day, bringing together professionals, carers, and members of the community to share knowledge and experiences around supporting those living with Parkinson’s.

A big thank you to all the speakers and organisers for delivering such an informative and empowering event, with special thanks to Katy Slade, Area Development Manager (South East) at Parkinson’s UK, and Darren Lack, Head Volunteer of the Milton Keynes Working Age Group.

The programme was packed with valuable sessions, including an overview of Parkinson’s and its management, physiotherapy approaches to exercise and falls, speech and swallowing support, and important discussions around mental health and dementia. Our care professionals also took part in the training sessions, gaining valuable insights to further support our clients and ensure their knowledge and expertise in Parkinson’s care remains up to date.

We were grateful to be invited to be part of the event and proud to work closely alongside organisations like Parkinson’s UK. Having a stand within the marketplace gave us a great opportunity to raise awareness about Home Instead and connect with others. It was a real highlight to engage with organisations such as PJ Care, Age UK Milton Keynes, Parkinson's UK, REMAP and more—sharing ideas, resources, and strengthening local partnerships.

It was amazing to hear from quite a few attendees in the audience who have used Home Instead Milton Keynes for care support services for their own families and had such a positive experience with us. We pride ourselves on our reputation of delivering high quality, bespoke, compassionate and relationship-led care.

Events like this play a vital role in promoting person-centred care and strengthening collaboration across services. We’re proud to have been part of it.

Care When Families Need It Most 💜

A family recently shared their experience with us after we supported both of their parents.

We first began visiting their dad to help with showering and personal care three times a week, taking the time to build trust and ensure he felt comfortable and supported in his own home.

When their mum suddenly became unwell, our team were able to step in at very short notice, arranging extra visits quickly and efficiently. Our Care Professionals covered weekends, evenings and nights, making sure she had the care and comfort she needed during such a difficult time for the family.

As their dad’s needs increased, we adapted again. A small, experienced and consistent team provided additional support, helping him accept the extra care while maintaining his dignity and independence.

The family later said they would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead after the care their parents received over the past 18 months.

At Home Instead Milton Keynes, we know care needs can change quickly. Our team is here to provide compassionate, flexible support when it matters most.
