Stitching Purpose Into Every Season
“Slackers will know what it means to be poor, while the hard worker becomes wealthy… Know the importance of the season you’re in.”
— Proverbs 10:4–5 (TPT)
There is something deeply powerful about hands that choose to work.
Every stitch sewn, every design imagined, every handbag completed by these girls in Zimbabwe is more than a craft—it is a decision. A decision to rise, to learn, to create, and to steward the season they have been given.
The Bible reminds us that poverty is not merely about lack of money, but often about missed moments. Seasons come with opportunities, and wisdom recognises when it is time to wake up, apply oneself, and build. These young women are doing exactly that. Instead of sleeping through their day of opportunity, they are putting their hands to skill, turning creativity into value and effort into excellence.
Handbag-making is teaching far more than design. It is teaching discipline, diligence, responsibility, and vision. It is showing that wealth—financial, emotional, and generational—often begins with something small done consistently and well.
In God’s economy, hard work is never wasted. When young women learn to honour their season, to work with intention, and to believe that what they create matters, they are not just making handbags—they are stitching confidence, independence, and future provision into their lives.
This is what wisdom looks like in action.
This is purpose in motion.
This is a generation learning that their hands were created to build.
When you see these young ladies selling their bags, please support their hussle.
