Thank you to Harpole Day Nursery for their hospatality this weekend hosting a paediatric first aid course.

A lovely group who were enthusiastic to learn and apply themselves.

Would you know how to apply Child CPR?

- Deliver 5 initial rescue compressions

- Give 30 compressions with the use of 1 hand

- Followed by 2 Breaths

- Continue to repeat 30:2

- Depth 1/3 of chest depth

- 100-120BPM

- To give breaths, open the airway, pinch the nose and seal the mouth. Give one second of breath to see the chest rise

What is Menengitis?

Meningitis is an inflammation of the meninges of the brain and spinal cord.

Signs and symptoms

Raised temperature
Aversion to lights
Stiff neck
Vomiting
Feeling unwell
Unwillingness to eat or drink in young ones
A rash that can appear as one of the later signs
