Safety Centre - Hazard Alley

Safety Centre - Hazard Alley The Safety Centre is a registered charity teaching people across the region how to stay safe. We also offer First Aid and Fire Safety Training courses.

Opened in 1994 by Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Gloucester, the Centre quickly established itself as a 'must do' for schools seeking innovative new ways to introduce children to elements of the National Curriculum such as peer pressure and bullying, vandalism and personal safety. We now have an average of 20,000 children, including special needs groups, visiting per year. Since our inception, over 320,000 school children have received our interactive safety education. In 2004, the centre completed a major rebuild, including the installation of a disabled lift, which further improved the facilities for the children. In the same year we celebrated our 10th birthday and on this occasion, The Duke of Kent visited while a local school group, Giffard Park, was on their tour.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Stay safe this Halloween by following these rules:
⚠️ wear bright or reflective clothing to be visible

⚠️ look both ways when crossing the roads and find safe places to do so πŸ¦“

⚠️ only visit homes with pumpkins or decorations and never go inside a home to accept sweets

⚠️ avoid using candles in pumpkins and opt for battery operated candles or glow sticks

⚠️ keep decorations away from flames or heaters & check your fire and smoke alarms ‼️

⚠️ensure decorations do not block escape routes

⚠️ be careful with long trailing fabric on costumes

⚠️ always go out in a group, never go alone! Make sure you are with a trusted adult
