The Arthur Ellis Mental Health Foundation

The Arthur Ellis Mental Health Foundation We are building a mental health service for anyone over the age of 8 years old to access across Milton Keynes.

We think mental health services should be easy, meaningful and not come with long waits or high thresholds.

We wish this was an April Fools joke. Long waiting lists for mental health support are very real.

When someone is struggling, time matters. That’s why we work to provide fast, accessible mental health support for the people who need it.

Access. Over. Awareness 💚🧠

30/03/2026

It’s World Bipolar Day. Bipolar Disorder affects 1% of the population- that’s roughly 600,000 people in the UK alone.

In our Founder and Chief Fundraising Officer Jon’s words:

“Bipolar, to me, feels like you’re buried on the beach. When the tide comes in, its crashing on you constantly without chance to catch breath. When it clears though, it’s beautiful!”

How would you describe Bipolar Disorder? We’d love to hear your thoughts and how you feel about this awareness day. Would you rather more access to services than awareness raising? 💚🧠

Our podcast is BACK tomorrow and our guest has some incredible insights ahead of . This is a must listen.

As always, a huge thank you to hosts Jon and Wes for their honesty and vulnerability!

We are bringing a BRAND NEW charity event to Milton Keynes!

At The Arthur Ellis Mental Health Foundation, we are building a 1:1 mental health and wellbeing service for children, young people and adults without a waiting list. So far, we are sent 3,500 people per year to support. There are 2 million people on waiting lists.

By coming along, you're supporting a great cause - and you’ll have a brilliant night too!

MasterTasker LIVE 2026 is our charity take on the popular TV show, Taskmaster, where contestants compete to win by completing ridiculous challenges.

The night will include food, a drink on arrival, the show consisting of three pre-recorded tasks and a live task at the end of the night! All will be revealed...👀

As there usually is with us...there's a twist. YOU can determine who gets an ADVANTAGE in the final task! 🚀

Each of our marvellous contestants have a fundraising page. The person with the most sponsorship at the end of the night will gain an advantage in the last task. Meet your contestants ⬇️

🙏 Odette Mould MBE
🙏 Gamiel Yafai MBE
🙏 Sarah Thorne
🙏 Dr Julie Mills OBE

You can find their fundraising pages in the comments!

We’d love to make this event a huge success. Please let us know in the comments who you think would make a great contestant next year!

MasterTasker LIVE tickets are available too 🔖 Scroll to the comments for the link!

We’re really pleased to be the Spotlight Charity at this Thursday’s MKFM Meet of MK networking event. 💚

Events like this are a great opportunity for us to talk about the work we do here at The Arthur Ellis Mental Health Foundation, meet local businesses and share how partnerships and community support help us continue delivering fast, accessible mental health support across the UK.

If you’re attending, please do come and say hello! We’d love to meet you and tell you a bit more about what we do and how businesses can get involved in supporting mental health in a practical, meaningful way.

A big thank you to MKFM for inviting us to be part of the event. We’re really looking forward to Thursday.

See you there 👋

In our latest podcast with MKFM we’re joined by the wonderful Mandy Legg 💚🧠

Mandy is a mental health impact speaker, author and community leader. She opened up to Heather and Ros about authenticity, the importance of community and overcoming adversity.

It’s a powerful episode and we’d highly recommend setting aside half an hour to listen!

Comment MANDY and we’ll send you the link 💚

There is so much to celebrate today ✨

It is officially the first day of Spring - and honestly, it's about time. Lighter mornings serve as great motivation to start the day, and this time of year is a great time to focus on nurturing your mental health by spending more time outdoors and connecting with nature - walks in the park, gardening, or simply sitting outside, can help reduce stress and improve mood 🌿

It's also Eid! Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating today. We wish all of our Muslim colleagues, clients and partners a day full of joy with family and friends 🌙

Finally, it's 2026's International Day of Happiness! The theme for this year is social media, and how we should be regulating our usage as well as using technology for good. We see that this can be contradictory so please look away now and close this app immediately 📲

We're doing some really wonderful things. On average, we see people within 4 days of their referral to us.

The words on this carousel are from real people who have been through difficult times. Every story is different but they all show the same thing: Timely mental health support can change lives.

These are the voices of people who found hope when they thought they had none. They all found someone who listened, cared and gave them the support they needed to feel better 💚🧠

About Us

We build teams to deliver practical tools and strategies to help everyone recover, manage and maintain their mental health.

By working with organisations and adults on a 1:1 basis, we are able to provide a free and sustainable emotional support service for children who are unable to access support.

75% of children are currently unable to access mental health services nationally. Our mentors are qualified and experienced professionals that offer meaningful and diverse support for a range of mental health issues.

The 1:1's we provide to adults provides children with free sessions and gives the opportunity for anyone to express how they feel, improve their mental health and become #IndependentFromIllness.
