🚨 NATIONAL EMERGENCY ALERT 🚨

The Government has announced they will be testing the Emergency Alerts system THIS SUNDAY at 3PM. This alert will broadcast a loud ringing sound and/or vibrations across all mobile phones and tablets.

This is just a test and therefore no action will be required. ⚠️

πŸ•ŠοΈ Grief Awareness Day πŸ•ŠοΈ

Together we encounter grief in many forms from service users, loved ones, and even within our own teams. Grief Awareness Day was created to show the importance of opening up to others if you are struggling with the loss of someone close to you.

Whether your loss is recent or not, it's important to talk about how you're feeling and celebrate the life of the person you've lost.

Our Mental Health Lead is always available to talk if you would like to do so. To contact Carol call 07751 828989 or email carol.jackson@dalecare.co.uk.

You can also access a FREE 24/7 live chat and phone line through our employee assistance programme, TELUS Health. To join TELUS email tilly.brown@dalecare.co.uk for your invitation!

Individual Rights Day - care is not just about support, but our rights and respect 🧑

While we provide personalised care to each of our service users, they have the right to make informed choices in regards to their care; for example, the right to refuse medication. While certain aspects of their care may be encourage, nothing should be forced.

Our carers have rights also, and deserve to be respected by all. Our carers well-being is incredibly important to us and we want our team to feel supported.

With the end off our Step Up Challenge approaching, you have until THIS SUNDAY to get as many steps in as possible and make it count!

Be Kind to Humankind Week 🧑

This awareness week is all about simple, small actions that can make a big difference.

Together we can help make someone's day a little brighter, whether your showing compassion through a smile, giving someone a helping hand or thanking someone for supporting you.

When working in care, a kind and compassionate attitude is part of the job. Lets spread this attitude and encourage others to do the same. 🧑

Protecting Our Carers and Our Service Users: Appropriate Hand Washing Practices 🫧

Working in the care sector we understand the importance of effective hand washing. This is one of the most powerful tools we have to prevent the spread of infections. It protects vulnerable service users, supports staff health, and ensures a safer, cleaner environment.

βœ… Wash hands before and after contact with service users
βœ… Use soap and water, following a proper technique for at least 20 seconds
βœ… If soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser

Let’s continue to make hand hygiene a habit, not a reminder. 🧼

Today is Internet Self-Care Day - a gentle reminder for care staff to care for yourself too 🧑

While the internet and social media can bring much joy, they do have their negatives. This awareness day does not encourage you to quit social media, rather it encourages you to use online spaces mindfully. You can do this by:
❌ Avoiding negativity
πŸ“± Taking regular screen breaks
🧠 Setting boundaries that better support your mental health

While you support our service users, we want to ensure you are supported too 🧑
