The Surgery
We took occupation of our new purpose built surgery in October 2003. The building has been designed to provide a pleasant and welcoming environment and it is equipped to very high standards. There is a large car park located adjacent to the surgery. Please park considerately to allow maximum use and kindly avoid the spaces reserved for doctors who made need to get in and out in an emergency. The area nearest the surgery enterance is reserved for disabled patients and for parents with small children. For patients who are disabled there is easy access and all consulting rooms are on the ground floor. We are pleased to have Jardines Pharmacy incorporating the village Post Office on site. There is also a private dentist in space sub-let by the Primary Care Trust. Please note that these are not under control of the practice and any enquiries should be made directly to Jardines or the dentist. A Partnership with Patients
We believe that looking after your health must be a partnership between the practice and you the patient. We will try to give you as much information as possible about your condition and where choices of treatment exist to explain these to you. We are now actively seeking to foster the development of a patient participation group. We aim to provide all of our patients with a high quality clinical service in a pleasant and welcoming environment. Your own Doctor
We operate a personal doctor system. This means that you will normally be seen by your own doctor as we believe that this provides the best continuity of care. If your own doctor is not available you will be informed and told the name of the locum. In all cases however the doctor with whom you are registered will retain overall responsibility for your care. If you wish to change your personal doctor you can request to do so by letter to the Practice Manager. Patients Responsibilities
We will treat all patients with respect and without prejudice. We request that you behave in the same way towards everyone working in the practice. In common with other parts of the NHS we have a zero tolerance policy towards aggressive or abusive behaviour which is fortunately a very rare occurrence but we wish to keep it that way. Wasted appointments are a major problem throughout the NHS. They waste the valuable time of the professional concerned and deprive other patients of an opportunity to be seen. If you find you cannot keep or no longer need an appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer it to someone else. Patients who repeatedly waste appointments may after warnings be removed from our list. Practice NHS Contract
Milton Keynes Village Practice is an independent partnership of clinicians providing NHS services in contract with NHS MK & Northamtonshire, Francis Crick House, Summerhouse Road, Moulton Park, Northampton NN3 6BF 01604 651100. Comments, Suggestions & Complaints
Our aim is to give you the highest possible standard of service both medically and in our organisation. Comments and suggestions are always welcome but if you feel that things have gone wrong we have a Practice Complaints Procedure which is in accordance with NHS standards and available from reception. Alternatively you may contact NHS England on 0300 311 22 33 or email england.hsmcomplaintsteam@nhs.net. The information regarding your complaint may need to be shared with the Commissioning Support Units (CSU). If you do not wish to share your information with the CSU, you will need to include this information in your complaint. Data Collection Scheme
The Practice contributes anonymous patient data to a national database, which is used for healthcare research. The Practice receives training from the company aggregating the data to help improve quality in its computer records. The local research ethics committee has approved the data collection scheme and no patient will be identifiable to anyone outside the practice. If you would like to opt out of this scheme please let your doctor know and no data will be collected from your records or used in research. This will not affect your care in any way.

🔥⚠️ Parent & Carer Alert: The “Salt & Ice Challenge”
A dangerous online trend is resurfacing where children put salt on their skin and press ice on top.
👉 This causes serious cold burns (like frostbite).
👉 Injuries can need hospital treatment and even skin grafts.
👉 Young people may not realise the damage until it’s too late.

✅ First Aid: Cool with lukewarm running water for 10+ minutes, cover with clean cling film, and seek medical help.
❌ Do NOT use ice, creams, or fluffy dressings.

Message for children & young people:
✨ Hurting yourself for likes isn’t worth it. The scars can last a lifetime.

GP CONSULTATION RECORDING
In order to ensure speedy and accurate recording of consultations we have started to use some transcription software. The software records what is said, and offers the GP a written preview to check before saving to medical records. This consultation information is deleted from the software once saved to medical records.
A we**am is used to record the conversation, but there are no images, it purely records the conversation.
Your GP should remind you of this each time you attend. If you have any objections please mention them to the GP at the time.

2025 FLU VACCINES
Department of Health guidelines state that the majority of flu vaccinations cannot begin before 1st October.
We are starting to send invitations to book so, if you fall into one of the categories to receive your vaccination, you will shortly receive a text message with a link to our bookings. We would like you to use this, rather than call, as the telephone lines become overwhelmed. If you must call regarding a flu vaccine, please can you do so after 11am when the telephones are a little quieter.
We will be holding specific flu clinics on Saturday 4th and Saturday 18th October. We aim to vaccinate as many people as possible on those days. If you book an appointment for a Saturday, please be aware that the car park is likely to become extremely busy, so car sharing or walking where possible would be much appreciated.
If you really cannot attend on either of the Saturday dates please let us know as there will be a limited number of alternatives.

However, in the first few years, entry criteria have been set by NHS England to allow safe entry of this medicine into the health system, meaning not everyone who wishes to be prescribed Mounjaro will be able to access it immediately. It is not available for general or cosmetic weight loss.

Those who meet the criteria to start Mounjaro on the NHS must also be referred onto a diet and exercise support programme. This structured wraparound support focuses on good nutrition to support health and increasing physical activity. This support is designed specifically for people receiving Mounjaro to help them get the most out of their treatment and enhance their ability to achieve and maintain healthy weight loss.

The eligibility criteria are as follows:

A BMI of 40 kg/m2 or higher (37.5 kg/m2 for people from South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean ethnic backgrounds) and at least four of these additional conditions:

High Blood Pressure (Hypertension)
High Cholesterol (Dyslipidaemia)
Obstructive sleep apnoea
Certain heart diseases (Previous heart attack, ischaemic heart disease, stroke, peripheral vascular disease, heart failure, etc)
