The Surgery
We took occupation of our new purpose built surgery in October 2003. The building has been designed to provide a pleasant and welcoming environment and it is equipped to very high standards. There is a large car park located adjacent to the surgery. Please park considerately to allow maximum use and kindly avoid the spaces reserved for doctors who made need to get in and out in an emergency. The area nearest the surgery enterance is reserved for disabled patients and for parents with small children. For patients who are disabled there is easy access and all consulting rooms are on the ground floor. We are pleased to have Jardines Pharmacy incorporating the village Post Office on site. There is also a private dentist in space sub-let by the Primary Care Trust. Please note that these are not under control of the practice and any enquiries should be made directly to Jardines or the dentist. A Partnership with Patients
We believe that looking after your health must be a partnership between the practice and you the patient. We will try to give you as much information as possible about your condition and where choices of treatment exist to explain these to you. We are now actively seeking to foster the development of a patient participation group. We aim to provide all of our patients with a high quality clinical service in a pleasant and welcoming environment. Your own Doctor
We operate a personal doctor system. This means that you will normally be seen by your own doctor as we believe that this provides the best continuity of care. If your own doctor is not available you will be informed and told the name of the locum. In all cases however the doctor with whom you are registered will retain overall responsibility for your care. If you wish to change your personal doctor you can request to do so by letter to the Practice Manager. Patients Responsibilities
We will treat all patients with respect and without prejudice. We request that you behave in the same way towards everyone working in the practice. In common with other parts of the NHS we have a zero tolerance policy towards aggressive or abusive behaviour which is fortunately a very rare occurrence but we wish to keep it that way. Wasted appointments are a major problem throughout the NHS. They waste the valuable time of the professional concerned and deprive other patients of an opportunity to be seen. If you find you cannot keep or no longer need an appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer it to someone else. Patients who repeatedly waste appointments may after warnings be removed from our list. Practice NHS Contract
Milton Keynes Village Practice is an independent partnership of clinicians providing NHS services in contract with NHS MK & Northamtonshire, Francis Crick House, Summerhouse Road, Moulton Park, Northampton NN3 6BF 01604 651100. Comments, Suggestions & Complaints
Our aim is to give you the highest possible standard of service both medically and in our organisation. Comments and suggestions are always welcome but if you feel that things have gone wrong we have a Practice Complaints Procedure which is in accordance with NHS standards and available from reception. Alternatively you may contact NHS England on 0300 311 22 33 or email england.hsmcomplaintsteam@nhs.net. The information regarding your complaint may need to be shared with the Commissioning Support Units (CSU). If you do not wish to share your information with the CSU, you will need to include this information in your complaint. Data Collection Scheme
The Practice contributes anonymous patient data to a national database, which is used for healthcare research. The Practice receives training from the company aggregating the data to help improve quality in its computer records. The local research ethics committee has approved the data collection scheme and no patient will be identifiable to anyone outside the practice. If you would like to opt out of this scheme please let your doctor know and no data will be collected from your records or used in research. This will not affect your care in any way.

Due to the current meningitis B outbreak in Kent, we are seeing an increase in requests for information regarding Meningitis B vaccinations. The outbreak is currently contained and the risk to the wider population is low.
If your child was born after September 2015, they will be covered for Meningitis B, as this is part of the normal childhood immunisation programme unless you didn't attend the appointment you were offered.

If your child was born prior to 2015 and you would like to have them immunised- this is something you would need to do privately.

Men B is spread via direct contact- for example sharing vapes, drinks, kissing etc. For further information on the vaccination programme and the current situation- please see the link below

MEDICINE RECALL
Background
Crescent Pharma Limited is recalling one batch of Ramipril 5 mg Capsules as a precautionary measure due to a potential error at the manufacturing site. Crescent Pharma Limited has received one complaint to date, where it has been identified that a pack of Ramipril 5 mg Capsules (Batch Number GR164099) contains blister strips of Amlodipine 5 mg Tablets inside the sealed carton. Both products were manufactured at the same manufacturing site and the error appears to have occurred during secondary packaging of the blister strips into the cartons. Please note this is a Class 2 Patient, Pharmacy and Wholesaler level recall.

Advice to Patients:
Some cartons of Ramipril 5 mg Capsules, manufactured by Crescent Pharma Limited, may contain blister strips of Amlodipine 5 mg Tablets. All packs of Ramipril 5 mg Capsule, Batch Number GR164099 are being recalled as a precautionary measure.
If you were prescribed Ramipril 5 mg Capsules and have received the impacted product batch (Batch Number GR164099) please check that the carton contains the correct medication. The batch number and expiry date information can be found on outer carton.
• If the carton contains blister strips that are labelled and contain Amlodipine 5 mg tablets, contact your dispensing pharmacy in the first instance. If the carton contains blister strips that are labelled and contain Ramipril 5 mg Capsules, you do not need to take further action.
• If you are unsure or have any questions, please seek advice from your pharmacy or other healthcare professionals responsible for your care.
If you have an impacted pack or previously received this batch, (where known) and you believe you have taken the Amlodipine 5 mg Tablets that were included in error and are currently experiencing any side effects, then please seek immediate medical advice.
Please take the leaflet that came with your medicine and any remaining tablets with you to your pharmacy.
Both medications are used to treat high blood pressure, however because your body may not be used to a different type of medicine, your blood pressure may become lower than normal and you may experience dizziness as a result of taking amlodipine.

Missed Appointments – Impact on Practice Time
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please notify the practice as soon as possible.

Since 5th January, missed appointments have resulted in the loss of the following clinical time:

GPs: 2 hours 45 minutes

Nurses (including HCA's phlebotomist and Urgent Care Nurses): 31 hours

Total clinical time lost: 33 hours 45 minutes

Missed appointments reduce availability for other patients and place additional pressure on our services. We kindly ask that you cancel or rearrange appointments in advance whenever possible.
