✨ Finding a format that works for you makes it easier to stay consistent.

The easier a supplement fits into your routine, the more likely you are to take it regularly.

🔍 Consider
• Tablets for convenience and simplicity
• Effervescent drinks as an alternative to swallowing pills
Whichever works best for your lifestyle.

✔️ At Igennus, our B-complex range is available in both easy-to-take tablets and effervescent options.

✨ If your B-complex isn’t making a difference, the form could be the reason.

B-vitamins support energy production, the nervous system, and red blooIgennusformation.

But some forms need to be converted before your body can use them.

🔍 Look for
• L-methylfolate (active B9)
• Methylcobalamin (active B12)
Forms your body can use directly, without extra steps.

✔️ At Igennus, we use bioavailable, active forms across our B-complex range, including both tablets and effervescent options.

If ashwagandha hasn’t worked for you in the past, did you take it for long enough? 🤔

It supports your stress response over time, which is why it can take a few weeks to actually feel the difference.

And if you’ve taken it consistently and still felt nothing…

- The dose may have been too low

- The form may not have been well absorbed

This is where most Ashwagandha supplements fall short.

If you’re going to take it, consider choosing one with:

- 600mg per serving

- A high-absorption and well-researched form like KSM-66

- Combined with nutrients like L-theanine and magnesium

Because when taken right… that’s when you notice the effects.

✨ A cleaner formula keeps the focus on what really matters.

Some supplements include added fillers, binders or artificial ingredients that don’t contribute to the nutritional value.

🔍 Look for
• No artificial colours
• Minimal fillers and binders
• Transparent, clearly listed ingredients

For a more considered approach to supplementation.

✔️ At Igennus, our B-complex range is designed with a clean label approach, focusing on delivering nutrients without unnecessary extras.

Are kids multivitamins actually designed for kids? 🤔

Most people assume “higher dose = better”… but that’s not how it works.

- Nutrient Reference Values are set for adults

- So kids multis often don’t hit 100% and that’s intentional

- More isn’t always better (especially for growing bodies)

- Look for age-specific dosing i.e. younger vs older kids should get different amounts

It’s not about maxing out nutrients. It’s about getting the right amount for their age and their needs.

Don’t simply trust the front of the bottle, check the the back of the label too.

Not because they’ve been forgotten, but because many kids multivitamins only contain the basics.

Usually vitamins A, C, D and E.

Which is a great start 😁

But if you want your kid to have better nutrition, look out for these 2 key nutrients:

Zinc and iodine

As they play key roles in your child’s health:

- zinc supports immune function and growth

- iodine is essential for brain development and metabolism

So even if your child is “taking a multivitamin” they may still be missing what they need.

Our kids multivitamins contain zinc, iodine, B-vitamins and much more for all-around health support for kids.

I don’t recommend vitamin forms that are synthetic and need to be converted before the body can use them.

Because that extra step means the nutrient isn’t immediately available for your body to use.

🔍 I advise against:
• Folic acid
• Cyanocobalamin
• Lower absorption mineral forms such as oxides

✔️ Instead, I encourage:
• Folate as L-methylfolate
• B12 as methylcobalamin
• Well-absorbed mineral forms like bisglycinates

Because it’s not just what you take, it’s what your body can actually use.

🌿 Folic acid and folate are not the same.

Folic acid is a synthetic form of vitamin B9, widely used in supplements and food fortification due to its stability and low cost.

But it needs to be converted into its active form before the body can use it.

🔍 This matters because:

- Not everyone converts folic acid efficiently
- Unmetabolised folic acid can circulate in the body
- The active form, folate (L-methylfolate), is what your cells actually use

Folate is already in a bioavailable form, meaning it can be used directly by the body.

✔️ At Igennus, we use folate as L-methylfolate, the active form of vitamin B9.

🧪 Not all B12 tests reflect what your body can actually use.

Standard blood tests typically measure total B12, which includes both active and inactive forms.

🔍 This means:
• You can have “normal” levels but still experience symptoms
• Or see elevated levels that don’t reflect what’s happening at a cellular level

For a more accurate view, consider:
• Active B12 (holotranscobalamin)
• Additional markers if needed, such as methylmalonic acid (MMA)

Because it’s not just how much B12 is in your blood, it’s how much your body can actually use.

💊 A little is good, so more must be better. 🤔

That idea does not work with nutrients.

The body needs vitamins and minerals in specific amounts and carefully controls how much it absorbs and stores.

⚠️ For example, vitamin A is essential, but because it is fat-soluble, excess is stored in the body. Taking high doses over time can lead to toxicity rather than benefit.

🩸 Iron is another example. It is vital when you are deficient, but supplementing when you do not need it can cause digestive issues and increase oxidative stress.

These are just a couple of examples. There are many nutrients for which excess can do more harm than good.

Supplementation works best when it is targeted and dose-appropriate, not excessive.

Low mood isn’t always just about mindset. Sometimes it’s about what your brain is missing. 🍉 🥦 🐟

Relying on a single supplement rarely affects mood, but when you give your brain a range of key nutrients it needs, mood can shift.

A holistic approach is more impactful:

- omega-3 fats EPA and DHA

- key vitamins and minerals

- support from adaptogenic herbs and probiotics

When these pieces come together, you may become more resilient to stress, and your mood can change.

Dr Nina Bailey breaks down the 6 key nutrients your brain needs, and where to get them in her article.

✨ Your multivitamin might not be supporting your energy as much as you think.

B-vitamins don’t give you energy directly.

They help your body convert the food you eat into usable energy at a cellular level.

🔍 Check for
• Vitamin B9 as L-methylfolate
• Vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin

These active forms can be used directly by the body, without needing conversion.

They support energy metabolism and help maintain healthy red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body and help reduce fatigue.

✔️ At Igennus, we use only methylated, body-ready forms.
