Have you ever had a walk around the home and looked at the different things we have on show? We've been told before by visitors, that very often they will walk just to their loved ones room and nowhere else - and so more than likely, they will have missed all the interesting things that we have on show. Remember that we mentioned that we had been gifted some damsons and pumpkin?

Well here we have the results! Our extremely talented Sabina made a jam from damsons and created some lemon damsons cake with streusel on top. She then whipped up some pumpkin soup for tea and some walnut pumpkin muffins - amazing!

We had some children come to visit in the past few months from two local schools. We also had some of our staff members go out and visit the schools to let them know a little bit about what it's like to live and work in a Nursing Home. How lovely is it to offer intergenerational visits like this?

Residents’ Choice 🌟
This week’s activity was chosen by Joyce, who suggested making Baileys ice cream – and what a brilliant idea it was! 🍨✨
We whipped up the ice cream on Tuesday, and today we finally got to sample it… absolutely delicious! 😋 A well-deserved treat after our exercise class.

Did you know that we have files at hand in our reception area which let you know a little about each staff member we have here at Newford? These folders are called 'Staff Profiles' and the idea of this came from the One Page Profiles that our activities team create for our service users.
One Page Profiles are a small portrait of each person's life - what is important to them, what words they feel describe them, interesting facts about them and so on.
We felt that - why should we know all of this information about our service users without giving some back? The answer is - we shouldn't! We therefore ask all willing staff to fill in a Staff Profile, which holds a photo of them as well as their likes, dislikes and what is important to them. Have a look when you're next visiting 🥰
