🎉We’re proud to share that Minehead Medical Centre has been rated ‘Good’ in all five key areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), just 18 months after OneMedicare was awarded the contract to deliver the service.

New appointment system starts on Monday!

From 4th August, we’re rolling out AccuRx Total Triage:

No more morning rush – you can send your medical or admin requests online via our website, the NHS App, or by contacting reception as normal.

💬 A clinician will review every request to make sure you’re seen by the right person, at the right time.

⚠️ To help us launch the new system, we can’t book non-urgent routine appointments during August.

Lions 'Message in a Bottle' Scheme – Now Available at Minehead Medical Centre!

Do you live alone or know someone elderly who does? The Lions Message in a Bottle scheme helps keep essential medical and personal information in one place, ready for the Emergency Services if needed.

Thanks to Minehead Lions Club, we have a limited number of bottles available at the surgery – free of charge.

Dear patients, in just under 2 weeks we will be introducing a new appointment triage system. Find out more below ⬇️

From the week beginning 4th August 2025, we are introducing AccuRx Total Triage, which will improve how the surgery manages and allocates appointments.

For patients this will mean there is no more morning rush to request an appointment. You will be able to submit medical and admin requests online via our website, via the NHS App, or through our reception team by phone or in person in the normal way.

All of the requests are then reviewed by a clinician which will ensure that patients are seen at the right time, in the right place and by the right person.

In order to have appointment capacity to implement the new total triage system, we are currently unable to book non-urgent routine appointments in August.

We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic accident involving children and staff at Minehead Middle School. We would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the child who tragically lost their life.

We are also thinking of the children, staff and families who have been impacted by this incident.

This is a heartbreaking time for the entire Minehead community, if you or anyone you know is struggling to cope, please remember you are not alone.

Important Patient Information: Use of Heidi Health at Our Practice

We’re writing to let you know that our practice will soon begin using a digital tool called Heidi Health to support the care we provide to you.

What is Heidi Health?
Heidi Health is designed to improve the quality, safety, and speed of care. Heidi Health does not replace your doctor or nurse. It simply supports them behind the scenes — similar to a digital scribe — helping with the technical side of recording and organising medical information.

What does this mean for you?
When you visit or speak with one of our clinical team members, they may use Heidi Health to help record and review relevant health information. This allows them to focus more on your care and less on admin tasks.

Consent and your choice
Your consent is important. Our clinical team will always ask for your permission before using Heidi Health during your consultation.

If you have any questions or concerns about this, our team will be happy to discuss them with you.

Data privacy and security
Heidi Health is fully compliant with NHS data protection standards. Your information remains secure, confidential, and is only accessed by authorised staff involved in your care.

We’re confident this will help us provide you with better, more efficient care.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that attended the West Somerset Health Fair last Friday. It was a huge success with lots of local organisations getting involved. Over the course of the day many meaningful conversations were had with around 100 attendees. 👏
