Day centre

Dunster Lodge Care Home also offers a range of different activities throughout the year, designed to help those in care have a great day out. Our activities are available for people of all ages and in nearly all circumstances.

From music lessons to coffee mornings, our activity centre is a great place to have fun and meet new people.

You are welcome to come for just a day or as many days in the week as you like. Our activities vary from day to day and programmes change weekly due to seasonality and demand.

After 11 wonderful years, I would like to say goodbye to such exceptional team at Dunster Lodge and Dunster Lodge in the Community. What an amazing chapter of my life as the Manager of both Companies that I will cherish forever.
Together we conquered so many challenges and we celebrated many successes. I'm leaving very proud of our achievements, especially the good & outstanding CQC ratings & for winning the Regional Great British Care Awards & for becoming Highly Commended at the National GB Awards.
But most of all, I'm so grateful for my time spent with such caring & hardworking colleagues that always go above and beyond their duties.
It's been a great privilege to provide care for our wonderful residents and the clients in the community and their friends & families.
Thank you for such wonderful time together and your support & our laughters. I will never forget you.

Dunster Lodge Residential Home is hiring care assistants!

Job Summary:
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join our team. Day and night shifts available. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and support to individuals in Dunster Lodge Residential home, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.

Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, and medication management.
- Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.

Skills:
- Experience in home care or care home settings is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to understand and implement care plans effectively.
- Proficient in English with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others.

A clean driving licence and own transport are necessary. We pay travel costs and very good rates of pay.

You will be working with a small number of clients and, because we work differently to other home care providers, you will have the time and opportunity to build a caring and supportive relationship with the people in your care.
