Thursday 2nd October:

The dispensary will be closed tomorrow, Thursday 2nd October from 4:30 pm due to staff shortages. It will reopen on Friday as normal at 8:30am.

Update at 10:05 - we still have no internet connection, this has been reported as an Urgent issue and we are hoping it will be back soon. Thank you for your patience.

We currently have technical problems and have no computers, we have reported the fault and hope to have the problem resolved shortly, please bear with us.

SURGERY WEBSITE!!!

We experienced issues with our website this morning but this has been resolved and is now up and running as normal. You are now able to submit Anima request forms.

Just to remind our patients that collect their medication from St Nicholas there will no one going today, FRIDAY 12th SEPTEMBER due to staff shortages. They will be back next week as normal

As of tomorrow the surgery will be using a new total triage system Anima. The link to this is now on the home page of the website, if any of our patient have used an e-consult form in the past you will notice it is not too different. The receptionist will still be on the phones to help those that are not able to complete the forms themselves. There is lots of information on the website too all about Anima as well has helpful videos on how to use and FAQs.

We believe this is going to be a positive change to the appointment system especially for our patients but it is new for all of us. Staff and patients will be navigating this for the first time together so please bear with us over the next few weeks while we all get used to it.

Minster Surgery will be closed from 1pm on Wednesday 27th November for training. The dispensary will also be closed, both will reopen on Thursday 28th November as usual. If you require any urgent medical assistance after 1pm please attend a local walk in centre or call 111.

As of Wednesday 10th September, we will be introducing a new online consultation provider, Anima. It allows patients to submit request for medical appointments, prescriptions and general queries, which can then be triaged and appropriately allocated by one of our GPs. Please see the link below which will take you through to our surgery website where you can find out more.

Keep an eye on the website as this will continue to be updated this week as we get more information that with can share.

The Minster Surgery Therapy Garden is now open every Tuesday 10am-2pm. Please feel free to pop in and chat to the volunteers. Unfortunately it will be closed on the 9th September only.

We have arranged a coffee morning on Friday 26th September please feel free to join us, we will be raising money for MacMillan.

UPDATE REGARDING THE BELOW INFORMATION:
WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY THE ICB THAT MOUNJARO CANNOT BE PRESCRIBED BY THE GP IN KENT AND MEDWAY. IF WE GET ANY FURTHER INFORMATION WE WILL UPDATE FACEBOOK AND THE WEBSITE.

To qualify for Mounjaro on the NHS there is a strict criteria that must be met. You need to have a BMI of over 40 and have 4 or more of the following diagnosed health conditions:
- Type 2 diabetes
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Heart Disease (cardiovascular disease)
- Abnormal blood fats (dyipidaemia)
- Obstructive sleep apnoea

Wegovy is the brand name for semaglutide, a drug which has been licensed and approved by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for the management of obesity.
