One thing we all struggle with at times is our parasympathetic nervous system. Our brains try to protect us in primal ways - fear, anger or depression (flight, fight or hide)

Once we realise when this is happening and really look to see if it's the correct and appropriate level of response we can gain a level of control back. If we look calmly we can take control. If we fight ourselves we just add to our brains idea that there is a threat.

This is why it is VITAL to be kind to yourself. It truly is the most powerful way to take back control
and find the peace we need

It's been well proven that relaxation in nature can be hugely beneficial to both body and mind. πŸ’š

Please get out into nature and enjoy a recharge of your green batteries. It's a new season and the days are getting longer. It's a great time to get outside and see the new life appearing every day, and to get into the bright, blustery days that put roses in your cheeks ☺️

Positive activity boosts your brain chemistry and as we are descended from hunter gatherers, we are designed to enjoy being outside and walking. Especially if we do it with other members of our tribeπŸ’™

Now's a great time to get a double boost of great brain chemicals with a walk with your tribe, the more nature the better. Go check out the snowdrops and Bluebells in the forest. Have a breezy day on the beach. Take a stomp through some puddles with your tribe. Family, friends, dogs. And enjoy the good feelings πŸ’™

Sometimes when things go wrong in the world we think we're only how we feel. It feels awful. We're afraid. We give into our primitive brain that puts us in a fearful or angry place. We can't see another way through.

We CAN take control though. When we know what our brain is doing, we can take control back and this is where we can be brave.

Bravery isn't about not being scared. It's being frightened and pushing past it because you know yourself intellectually and can logically take yourself out of that primitive brain.

It's not easy, it takes practice and understanding, both things Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help with. By learning to focus on the positive and educating ourselves on our brain we can understand why we get scared, why we feel bad, and learn techniques to help with these things. The beauty of it is that its as easy as a short chat and a relaxing treatment.

This is why its such an effective treatment for anxiety, depression and phobias πŸ™‚

Valentine's Day can be tough, the pressure to have a partner can make it a sad day for some. But it doesn't have to be πŸ’™

It's important this Valentine's Day to remember show YOURSELF love first. Be kind to yourself πŸ’™

Remember that positive interaction is one of the main 3Ps we talk about in solution focused Hypnotherapy. We are hardwired to seek out loving company and be in a social group.

That doesn't mean we have to be extroverted, you can get just as much emotional and chemical reward from one or two people. Find your tribe! ☺️

It also doesn't have to be a romantic partner. Friends, family, your work bestie, even your pets all give us that lovely serotonin πŸ’™

But we need to be in a position to receive it. And we receive it joyfully when we have love for ourselves first πŸ’™

On a day focused on Love, do simply that! Love for yourself, love for your people, and love for life. There's literally so much to Love!! πŸ’™πŸ₯°πŸ’™πŸ₯°πŸ’™πŸ₯°πŸ’™

January, for many people is about goals. As we're a week in now people are starting to measure their progress. Maybe feeling they're not doing as well as they hoped. But they're doing better than they think! πŸ₯°

The post specifically says FINDING progress. Surely we can't just discover progression? Actually we CAN! 😁

The thing which trips up so many people is WAITING for progress to come. WAITING for a sense of achievement. Goals are set with an express wish to move forward in an area. How often have you set a goal and found yourself saying "I should feel better now" and just sat in expectation of a magical good feeling appearing despite the fact you haven't acknowledged or looked for your achievements? 🀷

It is easy to find what we're NOT doing, we look for that all the time! But very rarely do we look for what we're doing right. I challenge you to find 5 things you've achieved this week. Once you start looking you'll be amazed at what appears! πŸ₯°πŸ˜

If you keep waiting to feel you've progressed you may not notice or appreciate every step you've achieved. It's easy in this mindset to undo all your hard work and give up, because you can't see the progress right in front of you.

If you want to make progress? Realise you're already making it, you just need to be able to see it! So - Go FIND it.

You'll be amazed at how much you actually have already achieved, and how much closer to your goal you are than you think! You might have already done it and moved your goalposts without realising it!

As long as you are looking for progress though I promise you will find it πŸ₯°πŸ˜πŸ‘
