It’s January, which usually comes with a loud chorus of new year, new me. If that’s your vibe, that’s amazing!
But here’s something we don’t talk about enough…
January isn’t actually a natural time to start new habits or push for big change. We’re in the deepest part of winter right now.
The days are short. The earth is resting. And we’re meant to be resting too. You should be slowing down, hibernating and leaning into the season.
For us, wintering looks like:
• Reading really good books
• Cups of hot chocolate in the afternoon
• Wrapping up warm for chilly dog walks
• Making our home extra cosy — lamps on early, candles lit, corners softened, piles of squishy blankets
Not rushing. Not reinventing. Just being.
There will be time for planting seeds and fresh starts, but for now, winter asks for warmth, gentleness and rest.
How are you wintering this season? ❄️
