Leadhills Surgery

Due to Annual Leave (shich has been compounded by staff sickness) within Moffat Medical Practice we are incredibly short staffed. Leadhills surgery will be closed on the usual collection days of Tuesday and Thursday for the next few weeks

A member of the team will be in touch to organise an alternative collection if your prescription is due. Please do not hesitate to contact the reception team if you have any questions or concerns.

We are still working within our 7day turnaround but unfortunately we will be unable to accommodate any urgent requests so please order in plenty of time.

Today marked the last day of our student Flora Adam being with us and she left us with this lovely present.

We have enjoyed Flora being with us over the past 10 months and wish her well in her ongoing training. She hopes to come back to Dumfries and Galloway after qualifying - this is this why training is important to us, ensuring we attract trainees back to the area in the future, as our future doctors.

We will see our two new students arriving in August and GP trainee later in the year.

Thank you to our patients for supporting them in their development.

‼️‼️ We have been informed Wells Chemist in Moffat is closed due to a collapsed ceiling. They haven’t been able to tell us when they will reopen - we will update when we hear from them.

If any urgent scripts are needed unfortunately you will need to go to nearest pharmacies in Lockerbie.

If your script is already at the chemist and is needed urgently, our team can reprint it for you to take elsewhere.

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN ORDER YOUR PRESCRIPTION ONLINE?

Our telephone prescription line inbox has a maximum capacity. On a Monday morning/after a bank holiday (e.g. this Tuesday), it can often be full, making it hard for patients to order their medication. Our admin team have to listen to all the calls to select and manually print all the requests. It can sometimes be tricky to understand what people are saying on the phone. When people phone in to order their medicines, this also adds traffic to our busy phone line.

Ordering your medicines online is very simple. It means you don’t need to phone in and can simply tick which repeat medicines you require. If the medicine you require isn’t on your repeat list, the system allows you to leave a message to request this acute/short term medicine. You can leave a message as to where you want your prescription to go.

To sign up, please email the practice dg.gpclin-y18659@nhs.scot (with your name, address, DOB) and request a registration code. You can then sign up on the below link, with your code and order your medicines online. There is also an app. Please email on your own personal email address that you will be using to sign up. If other household members are signing up, they must email on their own email address.

This isn’t a replacement for other ways of ordering medication, simply another route that people can choose.

Our reception team can help if there are any issues.
