A podiatrist is a health care practitioner who can assess, diagnose and treat disorders of the lower limb. The terms chiropodist and podiatrist are used by practitioners and are currently interchangeable terms. To become a podiatrist one must complete an honours degree level course which includes 1000 hours of clinical practice. Podiatry students study areas including anatomy, physiology, medicine, biomechanics, clinical practice and much more. Once qualified, a podiatrist is an autonomous practitioner who can deliver the treatment required for many problems affecting the foot and lower limb. Common problems that podiatrists will see in private practice include, verrucae, ingrown toenails, skin conditions, heel pain and corns, however, there are many more problems that a podiatrist can deal with. Podiatrists are currently regulated by the HCPC, you can check if any practitioner is registered through their website.

Back to work Monday 8th January with a positive mindset to focus of health, wealth and wellbeing.

Those of you who know me, know i’ve been suffering long covid, which officially was diagnosed in may 2023 but suffered since 2022(about a year to get properly diagnosed). In this time I had to take a step back away from exercise that cause me to fatigue or stress my body(running/heavy lifting) so since the diagnosis, I have sold the gym and opened a small rehab studio, which is most importantly is a warm environment which is so much better for me and my rehab/personal training sessions.

Since may 2023, I stoped all heavy training/running or impact exercises and have since changed to swimming in dumfries once a week at least and stretching with low impact resistance training. For example I started 1200 meter swimming, stop start at around 58 minutes, this week I’ve got that time down to 28 minute 12 seconds constant front crawl swim no stop start anymore 🥰 💪💪

I again had covid 10 weeks ago for the 5th time, but I’ve never felt better since. I’ve managed to stopped the medication I was on, which put a little weight on me 2 stone 🫣😬yicks!!!

I’ve been able to get back into training 3/4 times a week in the last month and not feeling like my body was broken for days after 💪🥳 and once again and started tracking my food/exercise since 11th of December, even through Christmas and new year not even being on my best behaviour still manage to make changes

So going by measurements here’s the difference.

So ever little help, choose 2024 to be your year to love yourself again 🥰 get in touch if you need a hand starting out again 💋
