What a bloody day!!! Conditions for the determined cyclists weren’t great, made a tough ride even tougher but my god they were amazing and made it all safe and sound to their destination.

We have no words to describe the efforts of the riders and support vehicles and a huge shout out to the field 4 gang and wardens of Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park who went to such lengths to ensure we could give them a hero’s welcome with some amazing food - chef Steve Jones, Lisa’s chilli, Helen’s cakes and Jen’s guacamole were very well received indeed!

I hope all our riders have a very well earned drink and rest tonight - I know we will!!!

Above all else, we have now exceeded £29k for Lewis which will make such a difference to him and his family.

Together we are very much Lew’s Dream Team!

WE DID IT!!!! We have hit our stretch target of £25,000!!!

I’m not going to lie, it’s an emotional day here at Lew’s Dream Team HQ - we have worked so hard and so many people have been so generous in their support of this cause it’s absolutely overwhelming.

In addition to the huge sums of money raised to date, we have also been very fortunate to have some fabulous people and businesses who have made donations both in time, labour and materials. The extension to Lewis’s home is coming along nicely. Our sincere thanks go to the following for their ongoing support:-

The Queen has asked anyone who would like to pay tribute to Prince Philip to donate to a charity of their choice rather than laying floral tributes.....if anyone is thinking of doing this we would be ever grateful if they would consider donating to Lewis' cause. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/fund4lewis?utm_term=p7vBPYvDj

Lewis' family have recently had quotes through for all of the work that needs to be done internally in the house to finally make a bathroom possible for him and it is going to be a struggle to cover it all with the government grant plus what we have raised so far.......we need to keep going to make everything possible for him.

A statement issued on behalf of The Queen has asked that people do not leave floral tributes to the Duke of Edinburgh outside of Royal Residences, and instead donate to a charity. Hundreds of peopl…

Anyone with little ones interested in arranging a visit from the Easter Bunny 🐰and helping with our fundraising at the same time? Not long now until Easter 🐣

Big thank you to Nanny Biscuit for your support

🐣🐰 EASTER BUNNY VISITS 🐣🐰

Just over a week until Easter weekend and for a small donation we are arranging Easter Bunny visits to your front door. Each visit includes a small easter egg and photo with the Easter Bunny.

All donations are vital funds for adaptations to 13 year old Lewis' home in Flintshire who has suffered several strokes and bleeds on the brain leaving him unable to move and communicate.

You can book your visits for Easter bank holiday on Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and sunday 4th of April 2021 between 10am until 5pm each day.

Message our page to book (first come, first served) and one of our volunteers will confirm your time.

The start of the alterations to Lewis' home have started now, with the driveway having been adapted and the extension to allow the layout inside the house to be changed for the bathroom has now been started.

We had an extremely generous donation of materials for the extension from Thorncliffe Building Supplies Ltd in Buckley. Thank you so much to Adam Harper and the team, we are so grateful of your help and support and this donation has made a huge difference to how far our funds can go.

We would like to thank the North Wales Freemasons for their generous donation earlier this year.

We can now share that this money has been used to pay for some intensive physiotherapy sessions for Lewis with a specialist brain injury centre. Due to Covid Lewis has not had access to this sort of specialist treatment through the NHS and we are already seeing improvements which is amazing.

A huge thank you to Deeside Round Table for their generous donation to fund a power pack for Lewis's chair - it has meant that his family can finally get out with him for a walk around the village rather than having to drive to somewhere flatter 💙

We have another story of how Deeside Round Table has lifted the lives of those around us, this is also an opportunity to give you a little more insight as to where some of our funds go...

A few weeks ago we heard about a young strong-willed lad called Lewis White, a 13-year-old who has a remarkable story. He's spent a significant portion of his life in Alder Hey hospital after suffering a stroke at the age of 7 and associated life-threatening complications. Having gone from being a healthy little boy, he's now unable to move independently, talk or feed and can only communicate by blinking.
Lewis is the toughest, most determined boy his friends and family have the honour to know. He fights every day to gain more movement with courage and spirit, a truly amazing and unwavering young lad.

We reached out to Lewis' family to ask if there's anything we could help with. They required a motor that could be fitted to his chair to make it more mobile. We were more than happy to contribute £835 towards the power pack, and in doing so, aid his rehabilitation.
Lewis' mum, Sharon, said "We haven't been able to walk him around Mynydd Isaacs as it's too steep, but as you can see from these photos, since having the motor fitted we managed to get him out on a Sunday walk around the block with his best friend Jessie. It has meant the world to us to be able to just get out and have a walk together"

Lewis, we salute you. At times of challenge and adversity you have shown true strength. A remarkable hero! Your family, friends and community are proud of you.
