Are you a runner struggling with injury?

Running places significant demands on the body. With every stride, the forces going through your joints and muscles can be much higher than expected.
In fact:
πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Up to 7x your body weight can pass through the Achilles tendon and calf
πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Around 5x your body weight can go through the knee joint

Without enough strength to cope with these loads, the risk of injury can increase.
A structured strength training programme alongside your running can help to:
βœ” Improve running efficiency
βœ” Build resilience in muscles and tendons
βœ” Reduce the risk of common running injuries
βœ” Support a safe return to running after injury

If you’re struggling with running-related pain, physiotherapy can help guide you with the right strength and rehabilitation programme.

Do you suffer with lower back pain? What if we told you that rest isn’t always best?πŸ€”

It might feel natural to rest when your back is painful, but too much rest can slow recovery and increase stiffness.

Gentle movement helps keep your back mobile, your muscles active, and supports a faster recovery. Once your pain has settled, it’s important to build strength and resilience to help prevent your symptoms from returning. Physiotherapy can help you return to normal movement safely and confidentlyπŸ˜€

Treatment may include:
βœ” Manual therapy to reduce pain and stiffness
βœ” Tailored exercise programmes
βœ” Core strengthening

If you're struggling with back pain, whether related to disc, joint, Osteoarthritis or muscle weakness physiotherapy could help you get moving againπŸ’ͺ

Following a full assessment, our physiotherapists will create a tailored programme combining exercise, manual therapy, education and pain-management strategies designed to support you and your lifestyle, with the aim of:

βœ” Improving strength and mobility

If you’re living with osteoarthritis, physiotherapy could really help, so make an appointment to see what improvements can be made.
