MTS Psychotherapy

MTS Psychotherapy Passionate about your emotional wellbeing & mental health; helping you move forward with your life.

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy may be a way forward to offer support and help in getting your life back on track. My aim is that each psychotherapy session will be quality time for you to talk through your problems in a non-judgemental, safe and confidential setting that will be uniquely tailored to you. Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy aim to contribute significantly to our general sense of well being and our ability to manage our lives more effectively, and thereby positively influencing our mental and physical health. I have over 25 years experience working in NHS and private mental health services. I have successfully supported male and female clients on an individual or group basis whilst working in hospital and community settings. My specialist experience is in recurrent Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Problems and Self Esteem, often linked to past and recent trauma. I abide by the Code of Ethics of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Hallam Institute of Psychotherapy. My practice is sensitive to culture, diversity and difference. Please contact me for a confidential telephone consultation for further information.

Did you know that Meditation offers a simple yet powerful way to steady the mind and restore balance in daily life. By taking a few moments to pause and focus on your breath, you can reduce stress, improve concentration, and become more aware of your thoughts without feeling overwhelmed by them. Over time, this practice can support better emotional regulation, clearer thinking, and even improved sleep, making it a small habit with meaningful, lasting benefits. Looking after yourself is important for your overall wellbeing. Pic by Freepik.

Allow the momentum to carry you and incorporate self care activities into your weekend routine. Your resilience will appreciate the investment.

Why not start your Monday with a simple 10-minute reset to ease into the week. Spend a few minutes moving your body with light stretching or a short walk to wake yourself up, then write down the three most important things you want to achieve that day to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Finish with a few slow, deep breaths—inhale for four seconds, hold briefly, then exhale slowly—to calm your mind and help you begin the day feeling more focused and in control.

DBTSkills : Distress Tolerance.
HALT is a preventive Distress Tolerance skill in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) used to reduce vulnerability to intense emotions and impulsivity.

It is an acronym for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired, acting as a self-check to address physical or emotional needs before reacting in a crisis.

H.A.L.T. (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired) is primarily associated with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).

DBT Therapists sometimes informally incorporate it into DBT because it fits well with DBT concepts like:

Emotion regulation

Reducing vulnerability to emotional dysregulation

Self-care and body awareness.

This is a testimonial of a client who recently completed a course of psychotherapy. I am grateful for offering psychological interventions which make a difference to my client's life.
'I came to Manuela riddled with anxiety and a sense of shame which had been blighting my life for nearly a year. I was immediately put at ease by her calm manner. Manuela’s gentle and perceptive questions and suggestions enabled me to connect to the experiences which were the root cause of my difficulties. After just 6 sessions I found myself no longer monitoring all my actions and conversations but moving through my days with ease, once again enjoying my relationships and daily activities'

Passionate about your mental health

MTS Psychotherapy offers psychotherapy to people in Flint, North Wales and Chester, Cheshire, who need psychological support with their emotional wellbeing.

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy may be a way forward to offer support and help in getting your life back on track when experiencing intense psychological symptoms. My clients come to me from all walks of life. Some experience recurrent intense anxiety and fears, which are often accompanied with physical symptoms. Other clients experience depressive thoughts, feeling being stuck in darkness and not able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Often there is a link to recent and past trauma.

All my clients have one thing in common, which is wanting to stop experiencing intense negative thought and feelings. They want to enjoy life again.

My aim is that each psychotherapy session will be quality time for you to talk through your problems in a non-judgemental, safe and confidential setting that will be uniquely tailored to you. After successfully completing a course of psychotherapy, my clients experience significantly a better general sense of well being and have the ability to manage their lives more effectively, and thereby positively influencing their mental and physical health. I have nearly 25 years experience working in NHS and independent mental health services and have successfully supported male and female clients on an individual or group basis whilst working in hospital and community settings. My specialist experience is in enduring Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Problems, past and recent trauma, abuse and as Self Esteem issues. I abide by the Code of Ethics of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Hallam Institute of Psychotherapy. My practice is sensitive to culture, diversity and difference. I am GDPR compliant.
