We are sure you have heard the news today about a link between paracetamol and autism. However, Steffen Thirstrup, Chief Medical Officer at the European Medicines Agency, along with many other respected sources, has affirmed that current medical evidence does not support any link between paracetamol use in pregnancy and autism. It remains a recommended and trusted option for pain relief during pregnancy.
Spreading lies not only causes unnecessary fear,it diverts attention from providing resources, fostering acceptance, and offering meaningful support to families and individuals. To all the families who’ve spent sleepless nights worrying whether paracetamol (the UK equivalent of Tylenol) taken during pregnancy could be linked to autism we send you our love, support and reassurance.
