With the weather beginning to improve, residents have enjoyed getting outdoors whenever possible. We have had several walks in the fresh air and made the most of the sunshine when it appeared.

One of the highlights this month was a visit to the transport museum, which sparked many conversations and memories. Residents enjoyed exploring the exhibits and reminiscing about past experiences and travels.

We look forward to arranging more outings over the summer months.

Recently, we were entertained by a visit from Magic Paul, a local magician. Residents thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, with plenty of laughter and amazement throughout the show.

Many got involved by assisting with the tricks, and there was a nice touch at the end when balloon animals, hats and swords were handed out as a reward. It was a light-hearted and memorable afternoon for everyone involved.

We have recently introduced a new addition to our activities programme – Gordon the Chihuahua, our visiting therapy dog. Gordon now comes into the home every two weeks, and he has quickly become a favourite among residents.

His visits bring comfort, smiles and a sense of calm, and it has been wonderful to see the positive impact he is already having. We look forward to many more visits from Gordon in the months ahead.

We brought a bit of fun to the home with a 1950s American-themed dinner and milkshake party. Music from the era set the tone, and residents enjoyed a selection of milkshakes, smoothies and the classic coke float.

The event was light-hearted and well received, with plenty of smiles and a few singalongs along the way. It also provided a simple and enjoyable way to encourage a bit of extra nourishment.

Residents enjoyed a wonderful Italian-themed dining experience, thanks to the efforts of our talented chef, Luba. The menu offered a variety of flavours inspired by Italy, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere in the dining room.

The meal was complemented by a glass of Italian wine, which added to the occasion and made it feel that little bit more special. It was a lovely way to bring something different to the table and gave everyone the chance to try new flavours while enjoying good company.

We have been making the most of recent opportunities to get out and about. Our residents enjoyed relaxing bus drives, taking in the local scenery and reminiscing about favourite places along the way.

A visit to Longparke Farmshop & Cafe was a real treat, where residents enjoyed tea, coffee, and delicious cake in a warm and welcoming setting. Another cultural highlight was our trip to The McManus: Dundee's Art Gallery & Museum, where residents explored fascinating exhibits and admired beautiful artwork. These outings provide wonderful opportunities for socialising, reminiscing, and creating new memories together.

Love was truly in the air at Tigh-Na-Muirn this February as we came together to celebrate Valentine’s Day in style. Residents enjoyed a wonderful Valentine’s party filled with music and fantastic entertainment that had everyone smiling. In the days leading up to the celebration, we embraced our creative sides with arts and crafts sessions, making beautiful handmade Valentine’s cards to share with loved ones.

A particular highlight was our heart-shaped biscuit decorating session with our talented chef, Luba. Residents had great fun adding colourful icing and sweet treats to their biscuits - and of course, sampling their delicious creations afterwards!

We were recently treated to a very special visit from Dash, our Home Manager’s new puppy. Dash is a 9-week-old show cocker and has already stolen many hearts during his visit. He has settled in well at home and is currently enjoying life with his two human sisters, who keep him very busy! His visit brought lots of smiles and cuddles to residents and staff alike.
