We're really pleased to be able to make the 2024 Monmouth Medieval Festival on 10-11 August that little bit more accessible and open to all visitors.
The Bridges Centre have kindly agreed to allow parking for those with mobility needs at the centre, where their accessible toilets will be open (approx 10 minute level paved route to the main festival site, 5 minutes to the Monnow Bridge). Also at Bridges, you can hire a mobility scooter from the lovely volunteers at Mobility Monmouth (the main site of the event is a grassed field; please check suitability of the vehicle first).
We're also delighted this year to have an amazing Revolootion mobile changing places toilet on site. This is a facility for those with more complex toilet and changing needs, hopefully helping more people to enjoy a good day out with confidence. An attendant will be on hand to support with use of equipment, but not personal care needs. This has been funded by the access improvement grant, administered by Monmouthshire County Council.
We know there's still more to do, but we're trying to make changes where we can to support access for all to events like this.
