Voice therapy = less singing lessons, more nervous system regulation.

Controlled vocal work engages your breath, activates your vagus nerve, and creates vibrations that affect you physically and emotionally. Research shows it can influence stress hormones, support immune response, and help release held tension.

Your voice is an underutilised therapeutic tool. Learning to work with it intentionally, whether for yourself or in practice with others, opens up genuine possibilities for wellbeing.

In our voice courses, we teach students how to use vocal processing techniques to improve health and wellbeing in a professional environment. Request a prospectus: https://britishacademyofsoundtherapy.com/prospectus-request

Your voice does more than communicate; it has the power to improve wellness.

Voice therapy isn't about singing ability. It's about understanding how controlled vocal work affects your nervous system, respiratory function, and emotional state.

Regular voice practice can lower stress hormones, support immune function, and help process stuck emotions. The deep breathing involved improves lung capacity while the vibrations themselves have measurable physical effects.

If you're interested in the intersection of voice, breath, and wellbeing, our Voice Therapy courses will teach you how to harness each for wellness. Learn more: https://britishacademyofsoundtherapy.com/prospectus-request

January hitting differently? You’re not alone. That post-holiday slump can feel heavy, but sound is one of the fastest ways to shift your internal state.

Music affects us physiologically, helping to regulate the nervous system and process the "winter blues." How to use sound this week:
- Listen to playlists with upbeat tempos for energy and major keys to lift your mood.
- Revisit songs tied to positive memories for an immediate emotional shift.
- Allow space for "low" music when needed, then consciously transition to more uplifting, structured soundscapes.
- Try Lifesonics.com for therapeutic tracks to bridge the gap (currently offering a 7-day free promo to help get you through the month).

Your audio environment matters. Use this week to turn your soundtrack into a support system.
