We’re providing first aid cover at Monmouth Raft Race tomorrow.

It’s SO good to be back out at events and this is one of our favourites of the year!

It's the 55th Monmouth raft race tomorrow. Rafts launched at midday for their 6.5 mile trip down the beautiful Wye Valley from Monmouth to Whitebrook.
Family festival at the finish with hog roast, bar, and live music.
It'll be a great day in the warm sunny weather.

We’ve had a change to our leadership team in Monmouth!

Our previous Officer in Charge Mark (pictured right) has been promoted within the organisation. We as a division couldn’t be more proud of him and know he will do great things.

With this we needed a new person to take the helm and steer us through the ending of lockdown and life in the ‘new normal’ and following a successful interview Tim (pictured left) has been announced as our new Officer in Charge. Tim’s dedication to the division, his nursing career and previous military experience make him an excellent gent for the job!

Congratulations both and good luck in your new roles.

⚠️In Wales Welsh Government restrictions still apply.
🏃‍♀️As it gets warmer, many of us may choose to exercise outside (locally only).
🌻We may also be spending more time in our garden.
☀️When in the sun, it's important you keep yourself safe.
Follow our sun safety tips.

Last night we all stood at 8pm applauding the NHS and all keyworkers.

Today we’re giving a big thumbs up to three of our Cadets!

Eleanor (17) has picked up lots of extra shifts at the supermarket she works at as more and more staff members are off self isolating. We know it must be pretty scary still going to work but know you’re doing an amazing job.

Ella (17) answered a plea from a local Chinese restaurant which is now takeaway only. It’s not an easy thing to be working somewhere new at any time let alone in the midst of a pandemic.

Rachel (13) has been sewing scrubs bags to donate to NHS workers for them to safely take their scrubs home and get them washed. We’re very impressed with how professional they look!

We’re so proud of you all for stepping up and doing all you can.

From: The Prior for Wales

To: All Members of St. John Cymru – Wales

Date: Thursday, 2 November, 2017 @14.15 Hrs

Dear colleagues,

I am delighted to announce the appointment of the new Chief Executive for St. John Cymru – Wales.

Julia Hobbs will be joining us from Glyndwr Women’s Aid, where she has held the role of Chief Executive for over 4 years. Prior to this, Julia was the Managing Director of her own consultancy service, working to achieve corporate impact for the NHS and Third sector. With an MSc in Medicine, Julia has also held senior positions in other charities, such as Diabetes UK and The Stroke Association.

Julia said: "I am very happy to accept the position of Chief Executive. In St John Cymru - Wales, I see an organisation that delivers high standards in the sectors I know best and I look forward to having the opportunity to instil my commitment and energy with staff, volunteers and partners alike."

Julia will take up this position on 2 January, 2018. There will be a short period of transition from Keith, before he takes up his new role as Secretary General, St. John Cymru – Wales.

I look forward to welcoming Julia to St John Cymru - Wales in the New Year. In the meantime, please continue to give your support to Keith as he leads the charity through to the end of the year.
