We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Off Centre Theatre Acting Workshop on 4th April at The Priory in Monmouth from 7-10pm. The workshop is ideal for anyone who would like to develop and improve their acting skill set.
The workshop will be hosted by Kevin Tillett and Bob Traynor. Kevin is a successful West End Stage actor, trainer and presenter, who has worked extensively outside the UK. Bob has also enjoyed success on the West End Stage, in touring productions, has acted in films and is a singer. They each have almost 40 years’ experience to share with participants at the workshop.
The workshop is free for all over-18s to attend and promises to be good fun. Some of the areas to be covered during the workshop include understanding and building a character; acting when not speaking; putting character into voice; improvisation games and conquering stage fright. Refreshments are included.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Helen Tilley, owner of Monnow Eyecare said “We are really pleased to extend our partnership with Off Centre Theatre which goes back over 5 years. It’s a great opportunity to broaden our range of support for the local community we serve.”
Tony Summers, Chair of Off Centre Theatre commented “We are very grateful to Monnow Eyecare for their support. Our theatre group is a registered charity with great local support and it’s fantastic to be able to give something back to the community with this free workshop.”
Martin Newman, who acts and directs with Off Centre, added “As a community theatre group, we know that everyone has the basic skills needed to act brilliantly which we all use in everyday life, and yet sometimes on the stage these skills can be hard to access. This workshop with the legendary Kevin and Bob is a great opportunity for seasoned performers and complete beginners to sharpen their skills, grow their confidence and have a lot of fun!”
