What we eat has an impact on our health, including our hearing.
Zinc - boosts the immunity, helps wound healing and helps to prevent ear infections, some studies have even suggested it can be useful in treating tinnitus. Dark chocolate, almonds, peanuts, lentils, cashew nuts, beef and pork.
Omega 3 - helps to strengthen blood vessels in the ears
Flax seed, chia seeds,sardines, walnuts, beef, trout, tofu, cauliflower, tuna and sprouts
Folic acid - can help reduce hearing loss
Asparagus, okra,parsley, spinach, liver, lentils, avocado and broccoli
Potassium - fluid balance in the inner ear relies on potassium, which regulates the level of fluid in the body’s tissues and blood. As we get older these levels can drop and contribute to age related hearing loss.
Low fat milk, raisins, bananas, tomatoes, spinach, melons, yoghurt, oranges, apricots and potatoes.
Magnesium - deficiency of this nutrient can cause blood vessels to shrink which can deprive the ear of oxygen.
