We are looking for some enthusiastic, like-minded assistants at Connect as a few of our staff members are moving away to University 😢

Would suit a student or someone looking for some experience working with children as it is not many hours and the start time is 3.15pm in StCyrus.

The second Connect for Summer was a big hit, despite the extreme weather at the start of the week. 🍃
We brought the beach indoors for our drift wood wool wrapping instead, with some amazing art work created. 🎨🖌️
We also had clay to make butterflies with leaf imprint wings 🦋...although some kids were influenced by Jasmine and made sharks instead 😂🦈
We also had the most requested craft...the glitter potion jars...we used our experiences of summer to create a little jar of Summer Vibes ☀️🌊🐝
We had our water games and corners quiz and many other crafts and games in-between!
We ended our week at the beach with the plan to do an overall summer sandcastle/sand art competition but the wind decided to reclaim the beach quicker than we could build so instead we ditched the buckets and went for a paddle in the waves 🌊🌀 with three of us on jellyfish watch we managed the whole day with only one sighting so great fun was had 🌊🍃

And finally a big thank you to the parents/guardians for driving out in those conditions to bring your wee rays of sunshine to us 😁☀️🐝🌿🥰

Connect for Summers first event of the holidays was a huge hit, the sun shone and we all had an amazing time ☀️🐝 we made clay sun symbols, window art and my favourite the invisible ink with tumeric paint 😁
We had nature bingo instead of our usual scavenger hunt which got quite competitive 😂 made flower crowns and had a big water sports day and our corners quiz...lots of laughs 🤩
We finished the week with our big sandcastle competition which I am still editing pictures for so they will be posted later!

A huge thank you to all the kids for making it special and always being so enthusiastic ❤️ and as always I couldn't have done it without Jasmine Hardie and thank you to Chloe Wanless and Libbie Hebenton for helping out too, we are very lucky to have you all 🥰☀️🐝🌿

Connect for Easter Photographs Part 2!

Connect for Easter was lucky enough to have sunshine every day! ☀️🐤🐣🐇🌷
We had lots of fun and made new friends.
We started our week with the Easter egg hunt then decorated our boiled eggs and crafted some feathery egg pets. 🥚🐣
The other days were equally packed as we went to the community garden for a scavenger hunt, rolled our eggs and did wooden crafts. We also had our big Easter sports day which was full of laughs and good sportsmanship and we ended the week with our bring in the Spring Colour Powder battle 😁🌈💥 it took me a long time to get the colour out as I was the main target for both sessions 🤣
Lots of other games, crafts and of course sweets and prizes throughout! 😁
An absolutely brilliant week packed full of happy memories and I couldn't have done it without Jasmine Hardie Willow Mackie and Libbie Hebenton ...thank you so much girls! 🌱🌸❤️☀️🌷🥚🐣🐇🐤

Connect for Halloween week photo dump! It was brilliant spooky fun for all! 🎃🕷️👻🎃
We started the week with a scavenger hunt and then learned lots of bat facts and made our own bat familiars 🦇 We played a bat and moth game that became quite competitive and then we moved on to our pumpkin fun, wooden decorations as well as our own munchkin pumpkins to decorate and many games of pumpkin bowling (all you need is a pyramid of loo rolls and a medium roundish pumpkin!) 🎃
Then of course we had to have a potion day, the kids decided on their team spells ranging from 'making people kind' 'the rising of the dead' and turning people into pickles 🤣 we also made less gross and smelly pretty mini potion jars to keep by our beds.
We ended with our big Halloween party, the corners quiz on all our bat knowledge and the usual pin the nose on Frankenstein etc with lots of sweeties and prizes!
Needless to say we are all sleepy now 👻🕷️🦇🎃
A huge thank you to Jasmine, Willow and Libbie for your help this week and a big Halloween hug for all the kids that came as they truly made it special ❤️🎃🦇🕷️👻🎃

Sandcastle Competition Team E

This team worked really hard with Willow to create a wide moated castle. The moat was deep enough to have constant water from beneath so it didn't need refilled and Finnella came with amazing flags she made at home to add to the corner castles. Unfortunately for this team they have less photographs as the sudden heavy shower of rain at the end affected my phone and so there were a lot of blurry pictures! It was a hard working team and a great castle!

The boys made Krusty Crabs castle, safely surrounded by a large moat and look out towers. A very hardworking team and an easy to photograph spot picked on the beach!

Most inventive Award
We have Martha who made a go cart/car, the photographs did not do it justice (or the fact that several kids ran over it before I got a picture 🙈) but it was very inventive, it had a driver's seat, foot pedals and a gear stick as well as the outline of a car. Great work!

Solo Award
Rhona had team mates that fell away and she did the entire thing herself. She refused any assistance and was determined. Again her photos don't do her castle justice as the sand got pretty dry but she had a castle that had rooms and a tunnel. She worked the hardest and stayed the most focused throughout!

The boys made a castle with a crab on guard, a moat, a fire with logs around it and many more little details! They worked really well as a team (and had easy to photograph nice dark sand!)
