Castlegait Surgery will be closed for routine appointments between 1-6pm on Wednesday 3rd September for Protected Learning Time.

GP Practices throughout Tayside are committed to providing patients with the highest quality care. They participate in a number of Protected Learning Time (PLT) sessions throughout the year which allows them to provide access to training for the whole practice team.

Most GP Practices throughout Tayside will be closed for routine appointments between 1-6pm on Wednesday 3rd September to take part in PLT sessions.

Please be assured, access to urgent care for patients will continue throughout this time.

During those hours on Wednesday 3rd September, GP practices will continue to be contactable by phone to access urgent care which cannot wait until the practice reopens the following morning or to make any future appointments or medication requests.

GP surgeries will resume their usual working hours again on Thursday 4th September

There is no open access X-ray at Arbroath Infirmary this Friday 15th August 2025 due to servicing of equipment.
Please attend on a different day or attend Stracathro Hospital 9:15am-12pm and 13:15pm - 16:00pm.
Arbroath will be open from Monday 18th August 2025 as normal.

The Angus Health and Social Care Partnership, Williams Medical & NHS Tayside Charitabke Foundation are offering further calibration of blood pressure machines that patients have bought for themselves. This is a good way to ensure your machine is giving an accurate reading.
Please feel free to attend any of the drop in sessions.

For information- There is no pharmacist available at the Steeple pharmacy, Montrose between 2pm and 6pm today (Friday 01/08/25) so they will be unable to dispense medications.
If you need to collect medication from the Steeple today we suggest you go this morning.

In Scotland, Cardiovascular disease (heart disease, heart failure and stroke) is the second most common cause of death after cancer. It causes more than 25% of all deaths in Scotland, many of which are in those under 75 years of age. Many people are not aware they are at risk of cardiovascular disease. We, along with other Angus GP practices are hoping to identify early signs of cardiovascular disease by offering screening to certain members of the practice population.
If you get a call or text asking you to book in for some test then we would strongly encourage you to book an appointment and come along.

Castlegait Surgery will be closed on Monday 28th July, resume normal working hours Tuesday 29th.

Most GP surgeries in Tayside will be closed on Monday 28 July. Please check your practice’s opening times.

Your community pharmacist can offer advice and treatment for many common illnesses when your GP is closed. Swipe for pharmacies open on Monday 28 July.

Please consider visiting a pharmacy before calling NHS24 as many ailments do not require you to see a GP.
