Free Blood Pressure Monitor Calibration & Replacement Service in Angus

We are still running this service near you, if you own a home blood pressure monitor.🩺

Bring it along to one of our drop-in sessions across Angus to have it calibrated and replaced if necessary – free of charge!

✅ No booking required and available to anyone registered with an Angus GP practice

Our next sessions are running as below:

Montrose – Wednesday 24th September, 2pm–8pm, Montrose Library

Brechin – Thursday 25th September, 10am–4pm, Jenner Centre

The Surgeries in the Links Health Centre will be closed for routine appointments between 1-6pm on Wednesday 3rd September for Protected Learning Time alongside most Tayside GP practices.

GP Practices throughout Tayside are committed to providing patients with the highest quality care. They participate in a number of Protected Learning Time (PLT) sessions throughout the year which allows them to provide access to training for the whole practice

During those hours on Wednesday 3rd September, GP practices will continue to be contactable by phone to access urgent care provided by Out of Hours Service if your condition cannot wait until the practice reopens the following morning.

Please note we are unable to make any future appointments or medication requests.

GP surgeries will resume their usual working hours again on Thursday 4th September

The Angus Health and Social Care Partnership, Williams Medical & NHS Tayside Charitabke Foundation are offering further calibration of blood pressure machines that patients have bought for themselves. This is a good way to ensure your machine is giving an accurate reading.
Please feel free to attend any of the drop in sessions.

Broomfield Junior parkrun update

Thanks to everyone who got in touch following this post 3 weeks ago, 30 volunteers, 6 willing run directors, and we have trialed a successful run route with some local children.

Information on how to support by donation has been distributed to local companies and organisations to try and meet the £4,800 target required to launch a junior parkrun.
We now await responses for donations to be received for this exciting opportunity for the community. Parkrun UK do not allow crowdfunding.

A successful trial involving 31 children has been undertaken on the proposed route which is now subject to land approval 🤞

Live music on the opening afternoon

A new film is being shown in Montrose for one night only. Afterwards, a Q&A Panel will be held, chaired by Suzanne Zeedyk.

The film is ‘Love and Trouble’, a documentary made in Scotland about a real-life couple who both bring trauma to their marriage. The film charts their journey of recovery.

The event is being held on Monday, 30 June, at 7.30 – 9.30pm at the Montrose Playhouse.

Coming soon……. Broomfield Junior Parkrun is in the early stages of approval from Parkrun Uk to bring to Montrose a free, fun, friendly, weekly event for all children aged from 4-14. Junior Parkrun is a 2k event on a Sunday Morning starting at 9:30am.
Taking part is easy, once you’ve registered https://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/
your child their account will have a barcode to bring along. If you’ve already registered for the big brother Montrose 5k event, you don’t need to register again.
