What a week of different weather - sunshine and torrential rain!

Many thanks for those of you who braved the rain on Wednesday and came in to enjoy the cakes, tombola & raffle.

It is always lovely to see everyone chatting, eating cake, winning their prizes, and of course, saying hello to Badger!

You all managed to raise a fantastic £315.00 for Cotswold Friends, so a huge thank you from us and them.

Badger was so worn out afterwards, he couldn't even manage to finish eating his biscuits before nodding off!!

We look forward to seeing you all again for our next event - our very special "Mince Pies & Memories" one in December.

Today is the day of our "coffee morning", in aid of Cotswold Friends.

The tombola, raffle & cakes are all ready for you.

Gordon Millard passed away peacefully on the 22nd August 2025, aged 94 years.

He was the beloved husband of Sheila, much-loved dad of Paul & Brian, and an adored grandad, who will be very sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Gordon's funeral service is to be held at St David’s Church,
Moreton-in-Marsh at 11:00am on Friday 26th September.

Wow, that week went fast! It was lovely to get an extra day off at the beginning, especially after a very emotional weekend - holding a "Celebration of Life" service for James' Dad, who passed away earlier this year. He was a "I don't want any fuss for my funeral" man, so wanted a "Direct, unattended cremation" at the time, which we had the greatest honour of carrying out for him. So, the event on Saturday was simply everyone getting together to share memories, laughter, and a few tears in his memory.

As a family owned and run Funeral Director business, we can be really flexible in helping to arrange whatever type of funeral or cremation you and your family wish for, but still using local crematoriums and places of worship. In all cases, you will have our full guidance and support throughout, both face to face and on the telephone. We always find it's the little things that matter.

We have taken care of several families this week, ensuring the utmost care and attention with each and every one, and had a lovely review left for us on Google. It is always very humbling to receive such kind words, and always greatly appreciated.

Well, it's less than two weeks to go until our next coffee morning, so we went shopping last night to buy some lovely goodies for our raffle prize - lots of delicious and luxurious M&S food and drink, worth a total of £75.00 (photo attached of everything for you to see, before they all get packed and wrapped, ready for one lucky person to win).

We have also got lots of prizes to be won on the tombola, and there will, of course, be many cakes for consumption!

We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 3rd September, from 11:00am.

And don't forget, all money raised will go to support the invaluable work of Cotswold Friends

Well, it's been so hot again this week hasn't it!

Poor Badger has not liked it at all, so we have had to keep popping on the air conditioning (just for his benefit, of course!).

The talented Stuart Wiltshire Glass, who creates beautiful keepsakes has definitely been feeling the heat in his glass blowing studio - we think he has been trying to cool down by thinking of animals that live in the cold, and creating new keepsakes from this....these lovely polar bears are just gorgeous.
We do have a small selection of his creations in our office and more details can be found on our website.

Ray Carr passed away peacefully on the 2nd August 2025, aged 85 years. He was the beloved husband of Pauline, and will be sadly missed by all his family & friends.

Jim Davies passed away peacefully on the 7th August 2025, aged 95 years. Beloved husband of the late Joyce, he was a lovely gentleman who will be sadly missed by all his family & friends.
