Let’s Talk… 💛💙🌻

We’re proud to be taking part in Dying Matters Awareness Week (4–10 May 2026) – a national campaign encouraging open and honest conversations about death, dying and bereavement.

We know these conversations can feel difficult, but they affect all of us. Talking about them can help people feel more prepared, supported and less alone.

Join us for one of our informal “Let’s Talk” sessions – a chance to chat over a free cuppa, ask questions, or simply listen in a warm and welcoming space.

📅 Tuesday 5 May, 3pm–5pm
📍 George Moore Community Centre, Bourton-on-the-Water

📅 Wednesday 6 May, 1:30pm–4:30pm
📍 Redesdale Hall, Moreton-in-Marsh

Our nurses will be joined by local funeral directors and solicitors, who will be on hand to offer guidance and answer your questions.

Everyone is welcome 💚

Calling all local cafés, community groups and organisations ☕

Why not host a Coffee Morning for Kate’s Home Nursing and bring your community together for a great cause?

For cafés, it’s a wonderful way to:

✨ Welcome new customers through your doors
✨ Create a warm, community-focused event
✨ Build lasting connections with local people

For community groups and workplaces, it’s a simple and enjoyable way to gather people together over coffee, cake and conversation – while supporting local hospice care at home across the North Cotswolds.

We’ll support you every step of the way with our free Coffee Morning Pack, full of ideas, posters and resources to make your event easy and successful.

And to make your event even more special, we can arrange for one of our registered nurses (in uniform) to attend, helping guests understand the real impact of their support 💚

If you’re interested in hosting, we’d love to hear from you .For more information and to download the coffee morning pack, please go to: https://kateshomenursing.org/donate/hold-a-coffee-morning-for-us/, email: katescommunity@kateshomenursing.org or call Judith Forbes on: 01451 820444 Mob: 07841 025909.

Campden Home Nursing

Are you struggling with their grief. Campden Home Nursing offer a telephone assessment then 6 counselling sessions at no charge although they do rely on donations to keep the service running. The counselling runs from the lovely garden cabin of Jecca’s House in Chipping Campden.

As well as helping those who are struggling to come to terms with a normal bereavement, the counselling team can support traumatic grief, premature loss and prolonged anticipatory loss (sickness or dementia), of a family member or friend within 5 years of their death. Occasionally they may signpost a referral if more specialist or long term support is needed.

They also run a Bereavement Café on the second Friday morning of the month, which is run by experienced volunteers and offers peer support.

Your NHS bowel cancer screening kit could save your life 💙

If you are aged 50 to 74, you will automatically be sent a FIT kit in the post every two years. It checks for tiny traces of blood in your poo, which can be a sign of bowel cancer.

It takes just a few minutes to complete and post back. Around 98 percent of people who complete the test do not need any further checks. When bowel cancer is found early, treatment is often very effective.

Do not ignore your kit. Early detection saves lives.
