• Location Update •

Due to some exciting news soon to follow, I thought it would be the perfect time for a location update on where I am based and what I offer at each location.

On the first Tuesday of every month I am located .salon_ on Rake Lane in Wallasey. Here I am based in a lovely salon environment with the lovely girls at Hera Salon. Due to being in a salon environment alongside my sports massage and physiotherapy, here I offer a hollistic treatment option.

The aim of a holistic massage is to create a relaxing and warming atmosphere. With the use of candles, lights and diffusers it will create the perfect environment to relax and unwind after a busy period!

The session will focus on one of the areas below of your choosing -
- Head, neck and shoulders
- Shoulders and back
- Hamstrings and calves

All appointments for the hollistic treatment will be 30 mins.

For sports massage and physiotherapy services -
45 minutes or 1 hour

As always please message me if yu have any questions at all or would like to book in.

Also keep your eyes peeled on the following post for a new business venture and my next location post!👀🫶🏻

Stretching should be a vital part of anyone’s warmup and cool-down. From an Olympic Marathon runner, to going on a jog with your friends everyone should stretch to help increase the blood flow to the muscles and reduce the risk of injury.

Listed in this post are a couple of do’s and don’ts for when it comes to stretching. This is something in our sessions we can go over and discuss if this is an aspect you are unsure of. I can go through and give you tailored stretches to fully enhance whatever session you are about to complete.

As always please drop me a message if you have any questions or queries and to book your appointment! 🤍

• Frequently asked questions •

Shin splints are a common injury I see within my client base so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to explain what they are and why they may occur!

There are two main types exist -
- Anterior Shin Splints - These affect the muscles on the front of the shin (tibialis anterior), where they attach to the shin.
- Posterior Shin Splints - These involve the muscles on the inner side of the lower leg near the calf (tibialis posterior).

The pain you are experiencing will be due to repetitive stress that is placed on the lower leg. The pain will come from the muscles, tendons and tissue covering the bone (periosteum).

Shin splints are a condition that seeing a physiotherapist/sports therapist can help with through treatment and exercises to overcome and help manage the pain.

As always please drop me a message if you have any questions or queries and to book in your appointment! 🤍

Here I have created a little tips/reminders on what to do when you come for a sports massage or physiotherapy. It is always important to remember to ask me as many questions as possible. This allows for you to get the best out of your session!

These tips/reminders include -
- Being on time for your appointment to maximise your time.
- Remove as much clothes as you feel comfortable with. This is something we can work around ensuring you feel comfortable in the environment.
- Make sure to communicate with me throughout the session.
- Try and breathe!
- Stay nice and relaxed and enjoy!
- Try not to eat a large meal before your session to allow for you to be comfortable lying down.
- Drink plenty of water before and after your session to help aid the treatment.
- Remember to book back in! Staying regular is key to be able to achieve your goals and maintain optimum comfort and relaxation.

• Frequently asked questions •

Following on from my recent post regarding knots, I thought this would be a nice follow on to understand why we get these, where we get them and how to help treat them!

From the picture above, trigger points/knots are located all over the body where tension is being held. These can be caused by various things including poor posture, weakness, muscle tension and stress to name a few. These can be painful and uncomfortable on palpation, however very rewarding once treated!

In regards to treatment/prevention -
- Sports Massage!
- Stretching regularly
- Trying to relax as much as possible
- Placing a tennis ball on the wall/floor and apply pressure onto the area of tenderness to release the trigger point
- Heat/ice to help increase healing

As always please drop me a message if you have any questions or queries and to book in your appointment! 🤍

• Frequently asked questions •

One of my most frequently asked questions by clients is what actually is a knot?

In short, it is an area of muscle fibres that have contracted due to the muscle being irritated by receptive motion and therefore not able to then release. Sports massage can be key to help aid the release of painful knots and loosen them throughout the body.

As always if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to drop me a message and I can discuss any issues or queries you may have!
