If you ever wonder what I do outside of the salon, this is it! I am one of the Team Leaders for the Jorth Mersey TB Nursing Team.
24th March is World TB Day — a reminder that Tuberculosis is still one of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases, despite being preventable and curable.
Every year, millions of people are affected, and far too many lives are lost — often in communities with limited access to healthcare. World TB day isn’t just about awareness; it’s about actions such as:
* Advocating for equitable access to diagnosis and treatment
* Supporting innovation in vaccines and care for those affected by TB
* Break the stigma surrounding TB
* Strengthening global health systems
The World Health Organisation continues to lead efforts, but lasting change requires collective commitment — from policymakers to healthcare workers to individuals.
Ending TB is possible. But the question is: are we doing enough to make it happen?
Tell me 8f you have any experience of tuberculosis 😊
