Sometimes you have to look at what you can do and can control rather than what you can’t 🤔
So this week I made the decision to pull out of Manchester marathon. During the Liverpool half last week, I started with hip pain again around mile 7 🙄
My only reasoning for wanting to do the marathon again was to better my time after going through hell last year (IYKYK 🙈) but after last week, it doesn’t look like my body is ready for it even after feeling ok increasing the miles in training 🏃♀️ and I’m ok with that
Does this mean I’ve done anything wrong in rehab? No, it just means my body needs a bit more time to get stronger and it’s absolutely the right decision for me❗️
I’ve listened to how my body has reacted and I’ve not let my ego / image / peoples opinions / pressure to do these get in the way of that as it’s sometimes easy to do when it seems every person on instagram is running races these days 🥇
Now the decision is made and I’ve had a few days rest, I’ll lessen the load by doing shorter miles, focusing on rehab and maybe enter some shorter distance events 😊 💪
