Manchester Marathon… There was never an option to not complete that today!

All was going well felt great then from mile 10 my hip flared up again🙈 I had 3 options… walk the rest of the way and not make the cut off time, call it a day and walk off the course or do what I could to just finish!

I dug in and did what I could to carry on. My shorts had started to really rub my legs, this is not something I’d ever experienced before and I didn’t actually realise just how bad it was until I’d finished 😮 Then mile 17 I started with pain in my foot 🙈

Even though today was never about time, if I’m being honest i was a little bit gutted with my finish time as I knew I had it in me to go quicker but given what had happened plus the heat on the day, I’m just so glad to finish as that took everything to get across that line 😅

Thanks for all the messages, in a bit of pain now but glad to say I got that medal ❤️

So that’s my last treatment done for the marathon runners before the big day on Sunday 🙌

I’ve honestly had the best few weeks with you all and I genuinely mean that no words could ever be enough that you chose and trusted me with your treatments ❤️ The level of knowledge from experienced marathon runners I’ve been given and words of encouragement have been amazing 🤩

Now all that’s left is to go run on Sunday 🙈🏃‍♀️ and I’ll look forward to catching up with you all after we’re done… dunno what I’ll have left to talk about when it’s over 😂

Absolutely loved that and made up with my time. Wasn’t a PB but that wasn’t the aim for today, I only started running consistently again at the end of last year and couldn’t even walk without hip pain this time last year. Very happy to be back running… now onto the next ❤️

When Should You Get a Sports Massage Before a Marathon or sport event? 🏃‍♂️💆‍♀️

Timing is everything when it comes to pre-race sports massages! Here’s how to schedule yours for maximum benefit:

✅ 3–5 Days Before: Ideal for a deep tissue massage to relieve tension, improve mobility, and promote circulation. This gives your muscles time to recover before race day.

❌ 1–2 Days Before: Avoid deep pressure! Instead, opt for a light, recovery-focused massage if needed to keep your legs feeling fresh without causing soreness.

💡 Race Day? Skip it! A proper warm-up is your best friend before the starting line.

You may also want to factor in a regular sports massage to your training plan as the miles are starting to ramp up towards competition season🏃‍♀️

Todays run and a solid week of marathon training ticked off ✅

Had a set back on my longer runs for the past 3 weeks due to being unwell over Christmas 🦠

Last long run before this was 7 miles so i ideally could have done with 8 this week. Did I attempt 8? No

The reason for this and it’s something I tell my clients all the time, whenever you have a set back whether through injury all illness, you can’t expect to come back and pick up where you left off in your training. Instead, I always recommend to scale things back slightly, only changing one variable (distance in this case) for the return week 🏃‍♀️

Happy New Year to each and everyone of you 🥂

This year has been everything I could have hoped for and more ❤️

You’ve trusted me to prepare you for many Ironman events, many marathons, ultra marathons, triathlons, half marathons, 10k’s, Hyrox comps, CrossFit comps, rugby matches… the list goes on! There’s been many injuries along the way and many people that I’ve helped with every day issues such as neck pain, back pain and shoulder pain

I know I say it all the time but I honestly cannot thank you all enough for

I have many years experience within training and racing, mainly running and cycling. i have been competing in cross country running since I was 8 and more recently, I represented Team GB age group team duathlon in Spain.

I have a passion for sport and helping people and i decided to train to become a sports massage therapist. The knowledge I have taken from my racing, helps me further understand the way our bodies work And enable me to offer the best service I possibly can.
